I grew up close to Vestal NY. I hope this lady is found.
I do not want to be mean but I can never understand why people that have dementia or Alzheimers are allowed to drive. Its sad because a lot of these elderly folks have been really self sufficient their whole life but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. It doesn't matter how old you are if you have dementia or Alzheimers your mind can slip at any time. Its dangerous. I really hope this sweet looking lady is found safe.

Official: Vestal woman dies after car veers off road
Pellegrini went missing Wednesday on way to appointment
By Vanessa Ebbeling • Press & Sun-Bulletin • July 14, 2008
A missing Vestal woman died the day she vanished after her car veered off the road and struck a tree in Bradford County, Pa., coroner Tom Carman said.
Elizabeth C. Pellegrini, 83, suffered blunt head and chest injuries in the July 9 accident on Coburn Hill Road in Warren Township. She was ejected from her 2000 gold Saturn sedan, which had become airborne and overturned. The car landed about 40 feet off the dirt road in a heavily wooded area.
It was spotted Monday morning -- five days after she disappeared -- by a roofing contractor doing work on a nearby home. She was pronounced dead shortly before 11 a.m. Monday.
Pellegrini was last seen Wednesday when she left her home around 1 p.m. for a doctor's appointment at Guthrie Clinic on the Vestal Parkway.
Family members told police she had an early form of Alzheimer's disease.
The discovery ends a rigorous search by Vestal police.
Pellegrini's photograph has been sent to police agencies throughout New York and the East Coast, as well as to the Alzheimer's Safe Return program. Authorities scoured back roads for the woman and asked for the community's help in locating her.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the accident scene and notified Vestal police around 10 a.m. after a check on Pellegrini's license plate number revealed she was missing.
