It really scares me when people with any form of dementia go missing.
I hope he's found safe.

Family Searches For Missing Grandfather
Intense Search For Missing 84-Year Old
July. 14, 2008
The desperate search for missing 84-year-old Nhia Yang enters its second day.
MILWAUKEE - Family members continue to wait for news about missing 84-year-old Nhia Yang. His granddaughters are working night and day to find him. They're making posters, digging up old photos, and calling everyone they can. Yang is a diabetic who needs his medication, so they know there is no time to waste. "We've all been out in the rain to look for him. I know some of my brothers, they've looked since 3, 5 in the morning," said Nancy Yang, one of Nhia Yang's granddaughters. Yang is from Menomonee Falls. He vanished on Thursday morning. It's an agonizing wait for Yang's family members. Nancy Yang remembers when Nhia Yang would babysit her when she was young. "He likes kids, he likes to take walks. He likes watching his movies. When we were younger, he liked to go to nursing homes to play games," said Yang. Yang walked away from his Menomonee Falls home on Thursday morning. He has Alzheimer's disease, and may be confused. Hours after he went missing, he showed up again, at his ex-wife's home near 80th and Bender in Milwaukee. She went inside to get him food and water, and when she came back, he was already gone. Since he vanished, searchers have used bloodhounds and an airplane using thermal imaging to try and find him. But they haven't had any clues since his last sighting on Thursday. "He's an 84-year-old man. He's got salt-and-black pepper hair. He's in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. He's got diabetes, and he's been without his medications," granddaughter Joua Yang said through tears. The search was intense on Friday, both on the ground and in the sky. An airplane equipped with thermal imaging couldn't find a trace of him. "My grandma did spot him here yesterday, and when she opened the door for him to come in, I believe she went to the kitchen to try to get him some drink and some food, and she came back out and he was gone again," Joua Yang said. He hasn't been seen since. Family members held each other and waited for news at the spot where he was last seen. They are praying that somewhere, Nhia Yang is safe. "Please come back home. We love you so much. We just want you to come back home safely," said Joua Yang. Nhia Yang is described by police as an 84-year-old Asian male. He is 5'5'', 140 pounds, and he was last seen in all black clothing. Searchers believe he could be in Milwaukee, Menomonee Falls, or any neighboring community. Anyone with information should contact Milwaukee Police immediately. The Yang family is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to his safe return.
