Search Is On For Missing Lithia Woman

LITHIA - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance in finding a 50-year-old woman missing since 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Margherita Tanner, of 9721 S.R. 39 S., Lithia, was last seen after she walked away from her home Sunday afternoon. She left without her medication and eyeglasses, the sheriff's office said.

Tanner is a white female who is 5-foot-1, weighs 125 pounds and has brown shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing bluejeans and a red floral print shirt, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office patrol deputies, K-9 units and helicopters are searching for Tanner. The sheriff's office has established a command post at the mobile home park where Tanner lives.

49-year-old Margherita Tanner was last seen Sunday afternoon leaving her home in the 9700 block of Highway 39 South.

Her husband reported her missing when she failed to return home.

Tanner takes medication and wears glasses, which she did not take with her.

Tanner is a white female, 5′1″, 125 pounds, andhas brown shoulder length hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, and a red floral print shirt.

LITHIA (Bay News 9) -- A woman in Lithia has been reported missing by her husband.

Margherita Tanner, 50, was last seen around 1:30 p.m. Sunday when she walked away from her home at 9721 Highway 39 South in Lithia.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Tanner is on medication, which she did not take with her. She also wears glasses and did not take those either.

Tanner is described as a white female, 5 feet 1 inch tall, 125 pounds and has brown, shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a red floral print shirt.

LITHIA - A 50-year-old woman who wandered from her home Sunday has been found tonight, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Margherita Tanner, of 9721 S.R. 39 S., Lithia, was found at 7:49 p.m. in a wooded area after a homeowner at 2727 W. Keysville Road reported seeing her in the
rear part of the property.

Tanner has scratches and insect bites but appears to be in good condition, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said in a statement. Tanner was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital.

Tanner walked away from her house about 1:30 p.m. Sunday without her glasses and medication, deputies said. The sheriff's office set up a command post Sunday at the mobile home park where she lives and searched the area with K-9 units and a helicopter
