My BIL has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Exact type will be known tomorrow. His spleen is extremely enlarged and the doctor wants to start chemotherapy ASAP.

He went into the hospital with complaints of side pain the day before yesterday. They at first said they thought it could be kidney stones because of the location. After some imaging studies and blood work, the doctor concluded and diagnosed lymphoma. Waiting on blood smears for type.

He is 40 years old and the father of two children.

Any thoughts and prayers for his well being and family would be greatly appreciated.

He has started the Rituxan treatment as of yesterday. Chemo will start on January 3.

I know a gal who had this too. Had her spleen removed and a
new treatment at Henry Ford Hospital. It totally put her into remission.
But it was a long process. I don't know however, what the drug was, so
I am sorry I can't share that detail.

But the medical community has made great strides with lymphoma. So keep the faith!
