MARYVILLE - Authorities are seeking the public's help in locating a 48-year-old mentally handicapped man who walked away from a Maryville group home two weeks ago.
Ronald Richard Breeden, who lives at the Whispering Pines Group Home, left the facility between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. June 30, according to a press release from the Blount County Sheriff's Office.
"Breeden is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 218 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair with balding on top," the release said. "At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. He was also carrying a brown blanket.
"Breeden has walked off from the group home on prior occasions, but has always returned within a couple of days. He has traveled to Knoxville in the past."
Breeden takes prescription medications but has apparently been without them since he disappeared.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts - or who has had contact with him - is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division during normal business hours at 865-273-5001 or the 24-hour crime hotline at 865-273-5200.
More details as they develop online and in Thursday's News Sentinel.
