MCSO: Do You Know This Toddler?
Girl Shows Up On Doorstep Of West Valley Home

July 19, 2008
LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. -- A mystery toddler between 18 months and 2 years old showed up on the doorstep of a Litchfield Park home late Friday night, police said.

Eight patrol units responded to the area and knocked on every door in a half-mile area in an attempt to locate the parents, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said.

Neighbors in the area also began calling friends in Litchfield Park who they knew had small children in an attempt to locate the parents, deputies said.

Child Protective Services took custody of the child after police and residents searched for three hours with no success of finding the child's parents.

The girl is described as 3 feet tall and weighs about 30 pounds. She has curly blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a pink tank top and diaper. She has pierced ears with clear stone earrings, and her fingernails and toenails are polished pink.

People with information are asked to call the sheriff's office at 602-876-1011.

Grandmother Claims Wandering Girl :hifive:
Girl Shows Up On Doorstep Of West Valley Home

UPDATED: 5:56 pm MST July 19, 2008

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. -- A 2-year-old girl who showed up barefoot on the doorstep of a Litchfield Park home late Friday night was claimed by her grandmother about eight hours after she disappeared, Maricopa County sheriff's deputies said.

Eight patrol units responded to the area shortly before midnight Friday and knocked on every door in a half-mile area in an attempt to locate the parents, deputies said.

Neighbors in the area also began calling friends in Litchfield Park who they knew had small children in an attempt to locate the parents, deputies said.

Child Protective Services took custody of the child after police and residents searched for three hours with no success of finding the child's parents.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, the girl's grandmother, Rhonda Matthews, called 911 who told police she discovered Hannah Fenner was missing.

Investigators said this wasn't the first time Fenner has wandered off from her grandmother's house by herself. Three weeks ago she was found by a neighbor in the middle of the street, wandering alone.

Because I edited my original post already, I can't correct the thread title to indicate she has been identified.

Toddler found wandering alone in Litchfield Park

A little girl was found wandering by herself in Litchfield Park, around midnight Friday night.

Two-year-old Hannah Fenner was found in front of 602 E. Wigwam Blvd. at 11:55 p.m. by a resident.

Eight patrol units responded to the area and knocked on doors in an attempt to locate the parents. Neighbors also helped in the search. But the parents were never found.

Child Protective Services took custody of the child after three hours of searching.

Then, at about 8 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office recieved a 911 call from the little girl's grandmother, Rhonda Mathews, who said she fell asleep, Friday night, with her granddaughter. When she awoke, Hannah was gone.

Investigators say it appears the girl walked out of the front carport door. They said there was no crime committed.

CPS is conducting a separate investigation and is expected to return the child to the parents sometime next week.

I'm glad that this is being looked into. Hannah was found out on her own just a couple of weeks ago-again, standing in the middle of the street.

I'm very glad she's safe and has been identified.

I'm so glad that this baby is safe.

My son was a wanderer when he was little so we put chains on the doors up high so that he couldn't open them, and we put door alarms on so that if he did get a door open, day or night, we'd hear them.

Her grandmother went to bed at 9:30-Hannah got out of a carport door sometime after that. It's very frightening. Her grandmother didn't realize she was gone for 10 hours. :frown:

OMG if it's happened before, grandma needs to take some protective measures as ya'll are mentioning. I wish Caylee Anthony would just "show up" on somebody's doorstep
