Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help locating a missing Panama City Beach woman.
Amy Renee Blanton was last seen on July 19th, in the area of Dorothy Avenue, Panama City Beach. She was wearing jeans and a white top with a black heart on it. Blanton is 27 years of age, 5'6", about 170 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
Investigators believe Blanton may be in danger. Blanton left two young children in the care of a family member and her family states she would have never abandoned them. Blanton has not been seen or heard from since July 19th.
Anyone with information about Amy Renee Blanton is asked to call Investigator Johnson at the Bay County Sheriff’s Office at 747-4700, ext. 2600, or crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.

Amy Renee Blanton is NOT in custody. She was never lodged, rather let off on a PR bond as is the case for most DWLS or DWLR in Bay County according to the deputy I spoke to. So back to square one, however we now know she was in good health on the 23rd of July.

I spoke w/ Investigator Johnson. Amy is still missing, however she was in fact pulled over on the 23rd and charged w/ DWLS or DWLR. During the traffic stop her children were with her. I am told the children are safe with family now, however Amy is still missing. I understand she did speak with her family on the 23rd and told them she was 'in Parker' ?? I'm assuming Parker is a nearby community, I haven't checked yet.

I wasn't able to find out if the vehicle was inventoried and towed or not. I'm certain however Investigator Johnson is aware of it's current status.

Originally the 19th, then her family heard from her on the 23rd when she claimed she was 'in Parker'. Since then no one know's her whereabouts. Fortunately her children are in good hands from what I understand.

Not sure on either Kitty, it certainly is a confusing set of circumstances. Regardless, Amy is missing and I assured the deputy I would do my part to try and generate some awareness.

Panama City Beach Missing Woman Time Line

For the third time this month authorities are looking for a missing person and hoping this case does not end in a death investigation like the others. Family members reported 27 year old Amy Renee Blanton missing on Saturday, July 26 after not seeing her for a week.

Amy’s family tells News13 when they last saw Amy on Saturday, July 19 she said she was going to visit a friend. She left her two children with family members at the home she shares with her mother.

On either Monday or Tuesday of last week Amy called her mother saying she was in Parker and she was ok. That’s the last time her mother heard from her. The next day Amy’s mother received a call from a man whom she did not know. He told her Amy was ok and again not to worry about her. When her mother asked why Amy did not call herself the man said he did not know.

One week after last seeing her, which was Saturday, July 26, family members notified the Sheriff’s Office that Amy was missing. Her mother says she waited that long because she was hoping Amy would come home and the issue would resolve itself. Thursday, five days after the report, the Sheriff’s Office releases a news release asking the public for help. It says investigators believe Blanton may be in danger.

Amy’s mother says she doesn’t think her daughter wanted to disappear. She says Amy’s life is here and she would have no reason to just up and leave, especially without her kids.
