My friend (his step mother) emailed me the information directly.
The mother and the father are not together. The father only found out last night. The father lives in CA and the mother lives in NV.
A case number on the National Center for Missing and Exploited children is forthcoming.

Okay, thanks, Quinault. Would you post it when you see a case number with a link. This is NV, correct? I'm going to add NV with the date of his disappearance and if it's different let me know. (oops already done)
Keeping positive thoughts and prayers that they locate Jake soon.

Thanks for creating the thread Quinalt, I'll watch out for media releases and more details. Our thoughts are with Jake's family as they seek answers to his disappearance. I'm hoping he's safe...

Hello Everyone,
I am KC, Jacob's step-mom. I want to thank you so much for helping us locate Jake. Anything you can do to help, ANYTHING, is greatly appreciated.
I have emailed Kat, Jake's mom and asked her to come here, register and provide as much information that she can regarding Jake and his activities.
I understand you guys can do a lot of research via myspace and the internet. As most of you know, any information is something.
I wanted to provide you links --
Jacob's myspace:

His mom's, and she has some updates:

My husband's, where we are trying to blog everything we are doing on our end: www.myspace.com/ianddaniels
We called the Naval Air Station in Fallon and told them the situation and forwarded the flier. They said they would pass it on to All Hands on the base. So we have the entire Navy stationed in Northern NV now on the lookout.
Kat is having a HARD time getting the press involved since the police view it as a simple runaway case. I don't understand that. ANY missing child should be news, right? Do you have any tips to help light a fire under them and get some coverage for Jake?
I'll be checking in and want to thank you again for any help you can provide Jake's parents,
KC

Welcome, KCtheMommy. It is so hard when they think of it as a runaway. We do have some good researchers here and we will do our best to help in anyway we can to find Jacob.
Click on this thread and it may give some tips for help that you might not have thought of. http://helpfindthemissing.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23

KCtheMommy,
No need to thank us, it's the least we can do. I have looked at the MySpace profiles and looked for other web presences, nothing to report at this point however.
This must be terribly difficult for you and your family. I wish there were words I could write to ease your pain. I can tell you that I genuinely care, and am willing to go to great lengths to assist you and your family. You will find many people here that will do the same.
If anyone can provide further details I'd be grateful. In the meantime, I will continue to search for relevant information and pray for Jake's safe return.

Thank you all for your help. I spoke with the Detective and because Jacob is not a danger to himself or others and only classified as a runaway he said that the news will not help at this point. I have not spoken to Jacob since the day he went missing and he told me he loved me and would be home the next day. He never made it. This is not like Jacob. He is a bright boy but tends to be the follower and not the leader. I have tracked down his friends through phone numbers and have gone to each house and spoken to them and their parents. I truly believe that two of Jake's best friends are lying to me and know who he is with. I have hacked into his myspace and forwarded all his IM chat and people of interest to the Detective. Nothing in his chat or emails shows any warning signs. If I hear of any leads I will forward it to everyone. The Media Forms have been sent to NCMEC along with the picture. I refuse to sit back and wait. WE WILL FIND HIM. I always told him that no matter what trouble he may get into he could always call me and I would get him. I told him that I would rather him be home safe then somewhere on the street or with someone that wasn't safe.
Thank you all for your support and prayers.
Kat

Welcome, MommyKatt. I'm with you that I'd rather have him home than on the streets. Keeping prayers up for him to come home safe.
Have any of his friends mentioned any particular person/persons that may have let him stay with them?

Latest picture of Jake, taken right before he went missing. I had to blur the other child's face to protect their identity.
This was taken at a Rave. The kid loves raves. Kat told me he and his little raver friends also like to hang out at the SPARKS FARMER'S MARKET, so if you are Reno/Sparks local, please keep an eye out and call the police if you spot him.
Kat also thinks he'll head Downtown for Hot August Nights.

Jake is ALIVE --
but he is on the run.
The police responded to an informant's call -- and so did his mom -- but he RAN.
He's gone again, but thank GOD he's alive, thank GOD.
THANK GOD.
Thank you all for looking for him and forwarding the messages.
We MUST get him off the street to keep it that way.

We still don't have much, but Kat made a new missing poster for Jake (made before he was located and ran) and as soon as I can get someone to change the file format to jpeg from PDF for me I'll post it here. (I am on a mac and it's not allowing me to change it.) I have asked for friend's help but I think they are all out and busy today. If you can do it, please email me at FindJacobCallan@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Through everyone's efforts we found him. Someone who saw his picture recognized him and turned him in. He was found by Sparks Police department and released into my custody. Jacob is home safe and we are working on getting him away from the influences that caused this.
Thank you all for your efforts, prayers, and support.

Jake is home!!! Oh praise GOD! We are so happy -- all of us -- Jake, his mom, his dad, me, his brothers and sisters.
We are all so happy he is home safe and ready to start a new chapter.
This has been hard.
We are so very blessed he is home and safe, that all the difficulties we have ever experienced in our lives PALE in comparison to the love a mother and a father have for their son, and the blessed return of him to their arms.
We will move on for the best -- and Jake gets a whole new fresh start on life -- thanks to BOTH of his parents. He is so lucky not to be the victim of bitterness and silliness -- and most of all, most IMPORTANTLY, not the victim of the streets. Reading the threads on this site has made my heart seriously hurt. Hurt for the possibilities of what could have happened to Jake. Hurt for all those who suffer the ultimate loss of their child to death. Even random death like the two boys whose profile was listed the same week of Jake's disappearance. Good LORD that scared me, personally. It made me work that much harder to get Jake home.
I just want to thank YOU ALL. ALL OF YOU. The love you gave this family. The prayers. The support. The help. THANK YOU. Ian, Kat and I, we have one common drive -- and that is Jake -- now that he is home, well you can imagine that while we collectively breathe a sigh of relief, we are going to do WHATEVER it takes to make sure Jake never feels he has to run again. Can I just add how much his mom ROCKS? Can I just add how much his dad ROCKS? Can I just add how much JAKE -- well, he nearly drove us all to insanity -- but still ROCKS!!!
THANK YOU ALL. THANK YOU. :0012::thud2:
