yep yep and yep. When I was in grad school (sport psychology) we had a whole class on the Retirement Saga of Stars----it was fascinating. How they ARE their sport, period, and when they retire they have NOTHING and NOBODY left to support their identity. The bigger the star, the harder the retirement. Nobody wants to be a Has Been. Especially the Big Stars.

yep yep and yep. When I was in grad school (sport psychology) we had a whole class on the Retirement Saga of Stars----it was fascinating. How they ARE their sport, period, and when they retire they have NOTHING and NOBODY left to support their identity. The bigger the star, the harder the retirement. Nobody wants to be a Has Been. Especially the Big Stars.


The sad thing is so many other opportunities are out there for them to keep their own legend alive within the sports charities and other charity work too, and they don't grab ahold and go with them.

They want to be on that field on Sundays. Sad sad.

Brett Favre did have a steak house not far from me for a while, I ate there and it was good. It's been gone for a while though.
