Jeremy James Grice
Missing since November 22, 1985 from North Augusta, Aiken County, South Carolina.
Classification: Non-Family Abduction
Grice was last seen outdoors by a neighbor as he stood near his family's mailbox at approximately 8:45 PM on November 21, 1985. The neighbor reported that the child was not wearing shoes at the time.
Grice's mother checked his room the following morning (November 22, 1985) and was unable to locate him in any part of the house. The authorities were summoned and both air and ground searches were used, but Grice was not located. In addition, searchers drained two large ponds nearby; no trace of Grice was found.

In the link above, it states Jeremy was seen by a neighbor at 8:45 am standing by the mail box.
Then, it states that Jeremy's mother checked on him at 10:00 am and discovered he had disappeared.:thud2: That is quite a while to leave a 4 y/o outside without a closer check time. In fact, I would not leave a 4 y/o outside without supervision. JMO
Cute little boy and I shutter to think what may have happened to him. I just cannot stand the thought of crimes against children.

Another very sad case. I just cannot even imagine letting a 4 year old outside alone with no supervision. It seems to me that there is something wrong with the mothers story that she did not check on him until ten am the next morning. Something is very wrong here. I hope whoever did something to this little boy thinks about this everyday of their life.

If you saw a 4 year old standing barefoot, alone in the yard at 8:45pm in late November, wouldn't you call someone??? Either the parents or the police. I would! If I didn't see anyone with him, I would go out and check on him. I wish we could have complete LE reports just to see what might be missing from this picture. It could be a combination of things. I know we aren't supposed to say anything that might be hurtful. Just to be someone with clout and money. To be able to go to the office of LE and ask questions and demand something else be done. Just pray hard, I guess.
No one with more clout than God! We will get these answers one day and there will be a pay day some day!

Yes, I find the timing strange also.
I wonder if maybe the mother had put him to bed and assumed he was asleep and he left out of the house.
After my kids are in bed I always go back and check on them before I go to bed.

That is what I thought too that maybe he wandered out and his mother thought he was in bed for the night. Can't help wondering why the neighbor didn't take him back to the house or call them or something. Wouldn't it be dark by that time in November?
We don't have the whole story here it seems.
