Attorney: Ortiz Probably Not Caylee's Father

An attorney representing the family of Jesus Ortiz said on Wednesday that as far as they know, Ortiz is not the father of missing toddler Caylee Anthony.

Ortiz, 21, died in a car crash in Orlando in Feb. 2008. He attended Colonial High School with Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony.

In recent weeks, rumors surfaced on the Internet that Ortiz could be the father of Caylee.

The attorney representing Ortiz's parents said the family is close-knit and they claim they've never heard of or met Casey Anthony.

But they're not completely dismissing the possibility that Ortiz could be the father.

"Miss Anthony never told the family Jesus was the father or that he might be the father. In fact, the family has never met her and does not know her," attorney Bryan Crews said. "If the child is indeed their grandchild and alive, that is all they have left of their son, Jesus Ortiz. They would like to get to know the child if she is indeed still alive."

Crews said as far as the family of Ortiz knows, Casey Anthony and their son never dated, and they have no knowledge of their son ever taking a paternity test.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office requested a copy of a report from the Florida Highway Patrol on the crash in which Ortiz died.

They are doing a DNA test; there is a blood sample left from his auto accident that they will use.

The strange thing is, Jesus Ortiz went to HS with Casey but I don't think that is how the link was originally made between the two. Topix or WS had a post about a ZFG who also went by a last name starting with M; she had also been an Ortiz at some point in time. Also, Jesus Ortiz filed an eviction notice against a ZG. :shrug1: Interesting how things are interconnected.

Until the truth about Caylee is discovered, Casey means nothing to me other than someone I'd like to shake until her teeth fall out. I, too, am hoping that Caylee will be found, one way or another. If enough time passes that it becomes apparent that Caylee will not be found, I pray that LE has dotted its i's and crossed its t's.

Innocent until proven guilty is a requirement only in a courtroom - unless you have really great self-control.

Channel 9 has learned the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is interested in an FHP crash report that might be a clue as to who Caylee’s father actually is or may reveal another lie told by the little girl’s mother.

Eyewitness News spent the day knocking on doors Monday looking for relatives and friends of Jesus Ortiz, a 21-year-old killed in a car crash. In death, he's being dragged into the Caylee Anthony saga.

"I've never heard that name before," Cindy Anthony told Eyewitness News

Caylee's grandmother Cindy claims no knowledge of Ortiz, slthough she has said Caylee's father was killed in a car crash. That crash investigation included a blood test for toxicology. Now investigators may use that sample in a post-mortem paternity test..

There seems to be a very interesting clue on the Internet, as well. Jesus Ortiz's MySpace page is still online and a condolence message was left in the name of none other than Caylee Marie Anthony.

Meanwhile, when Channel 9's Jeff Deal approached the potential father's family, they were shocked at the mere possibility that Jesus might be Caylee's father.

"The father? No," family members told Eyewitness News Monday.

Another possibility has been tossed around as well, that even Casey doesn't know who Caylee's father is and made up yet another lie about the mystery father who died in a car accident.

The medical examiner's office said the blood is still available for a paternity test. In the crash, Ortiz was found at fault and alcohol was not involved.

Channel 9 has learned the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is interested in an FHP crash report that might be a clue as to who Caylee’s father actually is or may reveal another lie told by the little girl’s mother.

Eyewitness News spent the day knocking on doors Monday looking for relatives and friends of Jesus Ortiz, a 21-year-old killed in a car crash. In death, he's being dragged into the Caylee Anthony saga.

"I've never heard that name before," Cindy Anthony told Eyewitness News

Caylee's grandmother Cindy claims no knowledge of Ortiz, slthough she has said Caylee's father was killed in a car crash. That crash investigation included a blood test for toxicology. Now investigators may use that sample in a post-mortem paternity test..

There seems to be a very interesting clue on the Internet, as well. Jesus Ortiz's MySpace page is still online and a condolence message was left in the name of none other than Caylee Marie Anthony.

Meanwhile, when Channel 9's Jeff Deal approached the potential father's family, they were shocked at the mere possibility that Jesus might be Caylee's father.

"The father? No," family members told Eyewitness News Monday.

Another possibility has been tossed around as well, that even Casey doesn't know who Caylee's father is and made up yet another lie about the mystery father who died in a car accident.

The medical examiner's office said the blood is still available for a paternity test. In the crash, Ortiz was found at fault and alcohol was not involved.

It was the chilling, just-released 911 call that first alerted cops that little Caylee Anthony was missing.
Caylee's frantic grandmother Cindy Anthony says she made three 911 calls to police on Tuesday, July 15th.


Cindy: We're talking about a 3-year-old little girl. My daughter finally admitted that the babysitter stole her. I need to find her.
Caylee's mom and Cindy's daughter, Casey remains in jail and police in Orlando call her a person of interest in the child's disappearance.
911 Operator: Your daughter admitted that the baby is where?
Cindy: That the babysitter took her a month ago; my daughter has been looking for her.
The phone call continued:

911 Operator: They're there right now?
Cindy: I have a possible missing child. I have a 3-year-old who has been missing for a month.

Cindy Anthony now says she falsely accused her daughter of theft as a ruse to get police to come right away. "I wanted police to come out and take me to where Caylee was," she says.
In a 911 call made about an hour later, Cindy makes a shocking allegation.
Cindy: There's something wrong. I found my daughter's car today, and it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car.
Caylee's doting grandma says, "I told the police whatever I wanted to tell them to get them to my house because by that third phone call I was frantic."
Cindy now maintains the odor was nothing more than a rotting pizza left in Casey's trunk.
One issue raised questions about Casey: Why she waited more than a month before reporting her daughter missing. Casey, sounding surprisingly composed, actually got on the phone when her mom called 911 and tried to explain.
Casey: My daughter has been missing for the last 31 days.
911 Operator: And do you know who has her?
Casey: I know who has her. I've tried to contact her. I actually received a phone call today now from a number that is no longer in service. I did get to speak to my daughter for about a moment, about a minute.
911 Operator: Why are you calling now, why didn't you call 31 days ago?
Casey: I've been looking for her and have gone through other resources to try to find her, which was stupid.

IIRC Cindy found the address of Amy on a piece of paper in the car when she searched it after recovering it from the tow company.

This further supports that she and george had to have smelled the foul order long before Cindy made the first 911 call. And, since she admits to searching the car, she is likely to have removed the clothing (and who knows what other evidence) and the gas cans from the car way before the first 911 call was made. imo

Having noticed what in her words was described as a smell of a dead body in the car when it was recovered from the tow company and searched by her, one has to wonder why she didn't make a panicked call to 911 then. At that point, both her daughter and gdaughter were missing. hmmm...

Keep in mind, I'm just throwing this out there...I really don't think that this so-called Nanny is real...but it sure is strange that Casey came up with this name and that same name, looked at an apartment that Casey said she left Caylee at....

It would require some detective work to track down the seller on ebay but all the cell phones have a bar code and they can be traced back that way to the manufacturer, to who the mfg sold it to and when and to whom the middle man sold the phone to and all the calls associated with that phone can be provided to LE from the service provider.

On the second line of thought, I would find it very unusual that anyone would have a sitter for 1-2 1/2 years who's number kept changing. For one thing you would need the sitter to constantly call you (especially if you did not know exactly where she lived LOL) and how would you be able to see if she was available if you could not call to find out or call to check on your child? This alone would mean a ton of sitter calls logged on Casey's phone.

LE has the ability to track down every cell phone account in the Anthony family, going several years back. Any calls, incoming or outgoing, can be checked out and verified. There's just no way to avoid the tracking systems today.

Me either, makes two of us. I just think Cindy knows the truth, and is trying to paint it towards another direction. Those alone hours she spent with Casey , IMO, she heard that Caylee was no longer. Cindy then choose to go in the direction of saving Casey. After all this time, surely she realizes her grandaughter is not in the real world any longer. I heard on Fox this morning she was buying gifts for Caylee's birthday tomorrow, and had plans to run an errand for a card this afternoon. I am of the mind set its to try and convince th public she is unaware of what happened to Caylee, IMO, she knows.

Here is what I got when I meditated. I saw a bright light, reflection, something. When the light dimmed, I saw a silver ring. I don't know what the ring means, but it seems to be significant.

Then I asked, "Caylee! Where are you?" Suddenly I got her jumping up and down, raising her hand. "Here! Here!" she said. Her hair was in a shorter bob and she was wearing a one piece play suit.

I asked, "Where is here?" She turned her head and looked all around. All I got was the color red-orange like the walls were that color. (I have to remember that children can't identify landmarks. They think in colors and simple things when they are small.)

I'm not experienced enough to tell you whether she is alive or dead, but she seemed alive.

I got something else. First, I got Caylee throwing kisses, but she does it in an odd way. She kisses her fist and then spreads her fingers and releases the kisses upwards.

(The strange thing about the kisses is that a couple of days later Cindy was throwing kisses to Casey in the court room. I freaked out when I heard that. So, that is evidently something that Caylee would know to do.)

Then I got a word, Rialto. After that I got a number that seemed lik a zip code. 22906 or 22902 or something like that.

(I found out there is a Rialto St. in Charlottesville, Virginia in that zip code. There is also a major development being built in Orlando called The Rialto.)


8-1-2008 in the wee hours - actually 1:44 AM

I just imaged Caylee sleeping. There was a grid across her chest. I couldn't tell if it was quilt patterns or shadows from odd window panes. I called to her and woke her up. She was sleeping comfortably. She showed me a stuffed toy that was shaped like a teddy bear, but was actually a rabbit, because it had long ears. I still can't tell if she is dead or alive. She seems alive, but she would be alive on the other side, too.

(Since then, I have seen photos of Caylee and her mother with rabbit ears. Also, I have recently seen a photo of Caylee with stuffed toys around her, and many of them are rabbits.)


However, overall, I have nothing that is not just puzzle pieces. I have nothing that would help to locate Caylee. It just tears me up! So far, I can occasionally give someone a message from a dead relative, but I can't seem to help find anyone.

I know some people think psychics are vultures. Many of us just want to help.

I have a pitt mix that chews up everything. Luckily I have a basement that I can keep her and the Rottie in when they're not outside. I don't think anything I can do will stop that dog from her destruction.

Faith it's best that you crate train your pup. Take it slowly and make it out like it's a treat to get in her crate. Make sure the crate is large enough and give her something to chew on and a stuffed toy. She'll soon get used to it.

As fast as she will grow I'm not investing in a baby gate, she will soon be able to jump over it.

I've had German Shepherds all my life. They are the worst at chewing everything up until age 2. My solid white one chew my sofa up in a days time. I mean nothing but wood left.

I have a pitt mix that chews up everything. Luckily I have a basement that I can keep her and the Rottie in when they're not outside. I don't think anything I can do will stop that dog from her destruction.

Faith it's best that you crate train your pup. Take it slowly and make it out like it's a treat to get in her crate. Make sure the crate is large enough and give her something to chew on and a stuffed toy. She'll soon get used to it.

Oh I'll ditto on the crate training. I had a crate for my beagle when he was a pup. They learn to LOVE their crate!!!! Their own little private space or "home." After several months and the real NEED for the crate was gone, we kept it and kept the door open to it, and Magic would still go in there and lay down for a snooze.

Sorry also for the O/T......I am a huge fan of crate training for dogs. They love them!

As far as Beth Twitty...well not really a valid comparison, IMO. She was the media's darling......they all loved her and had utmost compassion for the loss of her daughter. Cindy and George, on the other hand, are pretty much thought of as pariahs.....at best, protecting their daughter and at worst, covering up for a crime they know about.

I see your point, but I guess because of being on crime message boards for years now I've noticed that so many times we (generic "we" and I'll include myself) OVER-pick-apart words said by suspects or others involved in a case. You know, sometimes, nothing very esoteric can be had by dissecting words, a phrase, a sentence. I've seen it time and again: "oh look what he said.....he meant such and such......odd he said it that way....what a word to use"....etc., etc. When in reality what was said was just a simple statement with no ulterior or "hidden" meaning behind it.

I think in this case, grieving certainly could have meant simply the grief of what they are going through, in totality. Maybe it's just the word Cindy grabbed out of thin air......not everything has to be a Freudian slip.

And anyway, maybe they ARE coming to grips with the fact Caylee may be dead. If so, why is that odd? They may put on a false front for the media but inside they are dying because their grandchild is most probably dead and their daughter most probably the cause of it.

I just can't blame them at all in that video, for either Cindy's or George's words or actions. I'm certainly no "fan" of either one of them, but I can't help but feel compassion for their circumstances. Despite the fact that Cindy's a wacko, George is nothing but a wuss, and Casey is some kind of total aberration!

TES put their boat in the water and found a car, that was later IDd as hers, in less than a minute. The truck and boat trailer didn't even get parked yet. So anyway, I think they may have been using SS sonar. A lot of LE agencys have it now, esp Florida, where I think they have a lot of water, don't they? :wink:
