Investigators are searching for a missing mentally ill woman from Greer.
They say she may be in danger.
Melissa Haller, 31, has been reported missing since Thursday. Her family said she took off from Marietta Georgia earlier in the week and never returned.
Greer Police told us they spoke with her Thursday morning. Later that day they found her car on the side of I-85 near Gaffney. The car was out of gas and there was no sign of Melissa.
Melissa’s family said the young lady is fearful, vebally aggressive and prone to creating personalities.
Melissa is a white female with short brown hair. She weighs about 120 lbs. and is 5’8.”

My 31 year old niece suffers from mental illness. She is in the care of my brother and sister-in-law in Marietta, GA. Earlier this week, she took my SIL's car for a drive to a local park. She never returned! My brother was able to communicate with her once via cell phone. Local police in Greer, SC had a conversation with her at around 2am Thursday morning. Yesterday morning, Nancy's car was found on the side of I-85 outside Gaffney, SC. The car was out of gas. There was no sign of Melissa. They then contacted the local police and re-filed a missing persons report. As of this morning, there is no sign of her in the Gaffney, SC area. SHE HAS VANISHED.

Melissa is extremely fearful, paranoid, verbally aggressive and prone to creating alter egos and personalities.

Melissa is a Caucasian female with short brown hair weighing approximately 120lbs and is 5'8" feet tall.


I have contacted you all for several purpose:

Pray for Melissa and the Marietta, Ga Chalmers family, my parenst and related people.
If you are in the Greer or Gaffney SC area, please keep you eye out for her. If she is in public, she WILL eventually have a breakdown.
If you have any contacts in the media that may be able to help with national exposure, it would be greatly appreciated.
If you have any ideas to help get information out, that would help.

GAFFNEY - A missing Georgia woman whose abandoned car was found in Cherokee County had not been found Friday, after her parents initiated a search on Thursday.


Nancy Chalmers of Kennesaw, near Marietta, Ga., said her daughter, 31-year-old Melissa Haller, has a progressive mental condition that without medication causes fear and confusion. She said Haller was last seen on Sunday in Georgia.
Greer police contacted Haller's parents early Thursday morning after locating their phone number while talking to Haller at a business in Greer, where her car was out of gas.
"They told us someone called the police because she had been there 12 hours and refused offers to help," Chalmers said. "We came to Upstate South Carolina immediately and began working our way from where she was seen in Greer. We were told there that she did not have money, but somebody gave her $5 for gas. We knew she couldn't get far."
Traveling north on I-85, Chalmers and her husband, Louis Chalmers, found their daughter's BMW just after crossing into Cherokee County several hours after receiving the call that she was in Greer.
"When I saw that car, my heart just sank. But we hope she just ran out of gas. This has happened several times before, but she always stays with her car," Chalmers said. "From when she left Greer, she probably ran out of gas by 3 or 4 a.m. And when we got there by 7 or 8 a.m., she was long gone."
She described her daughter as capable of convincing those offering assistance that she is fine.
"She knows to eat, to answer the questions and appear as if nothing is wrong," Chalmers said.
Lt. Matt Hamby with the Greer police said after the Chalmerses arrived, a report was filed by officers who had seen Haller.
The report chronicled the events that occurred after a manager of the Spinx/Burger King at 1599 Highway 101 South called for a Greer officer about 12:15 a.m. Thursday. Haller had been sitting in a corner booth since 4 p.m. the previous day.
Witnesses said she got up several times, took soft drinks from the store cooler and a snack from the shelf without paying.
A truck driver said he had tried to give Haller $20 for gas, but she refused it. She did take $5 offered by a store employee, the report stated.
An officer said Haller told him she had been diagnosed with a bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder but had not taken her medicine in a week.
The officer said Haller described herself as a "free spirit."
He said she was able to carry on a fairly normal conversation, but was clearly not in a good mental state. That prompted him to call for an ambulance for possible treatment.
But Haller refused to leave with EMS and could not be taken to the hospital involuntarily.
Witnesses said she left after buying probably $5 in gas.
The Chalmerses remained in the Upstate, searching for their daughter in areas off I-85. Her name has been entered by Greer police into a national police database as missing.
Cherokee County Investigator Tracy Fowler, who also met with the Chalmers, described Haller as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. She has blue eyes.
"She also uses possible aliases of Ashley and Caroline," Fowler said.
Chalmers said her daughter's hair is brunette and shoulder-length.
"And those big blue eyes. Anyone who sees her will remember," she said. "Her fear and confusion will make her resist offers to help. I just hope anyone who sees her will call 911."

KM You might have a trojan or a virus; you need to clear cache, cookies and run a complete scan. If you've got norton or mcafee, they might not grab a trojan horse. if you still have probs, let me know and I'll send you to a place u can get a free trojan remover.
