Brought from Thread #23:
Just jumping on to say Good Morning before the storm hits. We are due to start getting rain any time.
Although damage to Florida, including my home, family and friends is very possible and I pray we are all safe, my real wish for today is that Caylee stays incarcerated as I fear for her safety. No, not from kidnappers, but herself. I haven't read here in a few days so I don't know opinions here about the bounty hunter, but I personally think that Padilla totally s*cks! (ooops if that's bad to say)
I just saw on the news this morning that he admits he is here to promote his show! Dispicable as far as I'm concerned. He has no clue the complexities of Casey's mind and in my opinion only creating havoc for everyone concerned for his own personal interest. If some miracle occurs and he is successful in finding Caylee, then he deserves the $225,000 reward although he states he's "not interested." What bothers me about that is that I haven't heard him say is that if he is due to receive it...that he would refuse it, or give it to charity, etc. So him saying he's not interested doesn't mean squat to me. I see him as nothing more than a greedy person involving himself in a case that is none of business!! :groan: I am one person who will NEVER watch his show.
Here's an offer for you Padilla. I'll buy you a box of mint coated toothpicks if you leave Florida and go home immediately! Heck, I'll buy you 10...!!
Ok. That's my rant for the day. Hope you all have a superty duperty day! I'm off to prepare for the storm.
:0012:
Jane, thanks for stopping in - we know how much you care about Caylee. Your concerns for Casey well-founded, IMO; I just hope someone comes to their senses before the self-interests of others do irreparable harm.
You, your family, friends and all Floridians will be on my mind today. Please be careful - we need you! :friends3::friends3:

I just hope and pray that Caylee is found. I'd like to believe she is alive and well...but with so much time gone by, I think that makes the chances less.
I don't know if releasing her will help with finding Caylee. I have serious doubts that Casey is going to blab about a lot.
The clothes and back packs that were found??? Any word on those?

Tony tells FOX 35 they are waiting for something to clear, but would not specify what. He did say that "something" was unexpected and complicated.
The Orange County Jail's spokesperson, Allen Moore, says once bail is posted, police and fire will be notified. Then there's an undisclosed hold. Casey must also be fitted with an ankle monitoring device, part of the stipulation with the tracking devic
Moore did confirm that one of the holds, the requirement for the Anthony family to have a standard telephone line, has been verified. If Casey's bail is not posted until 4 p.m., Moore says it is highly unlikely she will physically be allowed to leave the jail.

I'm still back on Thread 23, trying to finish up. The discussion was about sightings of Caylee and there was some question as to whether there had been a sighting of Caylee, in an Atlanta apt. in July. I searched on it and found this - it is technically OT, but spot-on as far as the hysteria that searching for a child can bring:
"Madeleine McCann Mania" has gripped Europe to the point where no blond-haired child is spared from the suspicious eye of a self-proclaimed do-gooder.
The now desperate search for the missing toddler took a new turn this week after a British couple vacationing in Croatia tried to snatch a child they thought was Madeleine. This child, however, wasn’t even a little girl.

Yes...but I found some info when I did google search for zenaida gonzalez-fernandez florida, when this myspace link comes up, there is something there that I don't think I am able to repeat hear but is interesting. I was told that I cannot copy and paste things - so, maybe google it yourself. :shrug1:
I don't really ask anyone to click links or whatever but atleast find the info I have found. That is why I stated I googled it.

Casey Anthony Remains In Jail Despite Promises By Bounty Hunter
With celebrity bounty hunter Leonard Padilla in Orlando working out details to bail Casey Anthony out of jail, sources tell Channel 9 it could be at least Tuesday before she is released. If Casey is released, an associate of Padilla will live with her 24 hours a day, seven days a week, trying to get more information about missing Caylee Anthony. Meanwhile, Casey's attorney, Jose Baez visited her in jail Monday night.

Bailbondsman Tony Padilla, who flew in to Orlando from California to post Casey Anthony's $500,000 bond, said he could have secured her release Tuesday had he filed all the paperwork by 9 a.m.
But he didn't — and now, thanks to various procedural tie-ups, it's looking increasingly likely that the money won't be paid until about dinnertime Tuesday, he told FOX.
The delay will probably buy the 22-year-old brunette with wide eyes and a big smile another night in the slammer in Orange County, Fla.

Just a thought here, again, IF Casey is telling the truth about the "kidnapping", Baez might have gambled on that knowing that he could file a lawsuit against Orange County, et al, for all the slander and libel, and more than likely win; again, just another speculation; if she is telling the truth. If she's not telling the truth, well then the Anthony's probably signed over their house to him as collateral. I know we've done that before.
However, I did read that the Anthony's had retained Baez, but for the life of me don't know HOW they would have come up with all that money, like $50k minimum and for the life of me, can't remember where it is that I read it, but I'm sure it's in the forum somewhere as thorough as Faith and all have been in keeping us all updated.:happy0158:

Casey Anthony's Top Ten Alleged Lies
http://blogs.discovery.com/criminal_report/images/2008/08/18/casey_anthony_in_custody.jpg (http://blogs.discovery.com/.shared/image.html?/photos/uncategorized/2008/08/18/casey_anthony_in_custody.jpg)Alleged Lie #1 - On or around June 9, Casey told her parents that she had arranged for Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez to babysit Caylee so she could go on a business trip as a requirement of her employment with Universal Studios. She later changed her story and stated that she was going on a short vacation with friends. Meanwhile, Casey told her friends that Caylee had gone on a vacation with her babysitter.
Alleged Lie #2 - Casey offered a variety of explanations with regard to Caylee's whereabouts until July 15 when she claimed that her daughter had been abducted by her babysitter approximately 31 days prior to that date.
Alleged Lie #3 - Casey told investigators that she had not seen Caylee since June 9 when she dropped her off with her babysitter. However, when they went to the apartment complex in which Fernandez-Gonzalez reportedly lived, investigators discovered that the apartment had been vacant for several months.
Alleged Lie #4 - Casey told investigators that Fernandez-Gonzalez had also lived at a complex on North Hillside Drive. However, when they went to the location, they discovered that it was a senior living facility.
Alleged Lie #5 - Casey told Investigators that Fernandez-Gonzalez's mother lived in The Crossings at Conway, a community in Orlando. However, when they went to the community, they were unable to find anyone who knew an individual with the last name Fernandez-Gonzalez.
Alleged Lie #6 - Casey gave investigators the name of a woman who she said was a roommate of Fernandez-Gonzalez. Casey reported that the woman worked as a waitress at T.G.I. Friday’s. However, when they spoke with the manager of the restaurant, they learned that no such person had been employed there.
Alleged Lie #7 - Casey told investigators that she worked at Universal Studios. However, the company had no record of her employment. When investigators took Casey to Universal Studios so that she could show them where she worked, she finally admitted that she was not an employee of the company.
Alleged Lie #8 - Casey told investigators that she had received a call from Caylee on July 15. However, when they subpoenaed her telephone records, they found no evidence to support her claim.
Alleged Lie #9 - Casey told investigators that two people, both employees of Kodak, were aware of Caylee's disappearance. When they contacted the company, they learned that no such individuals were employed by Kodak.
Alleged Lie #10 - Casey told her family that Caylee would be home for her third birthday on August 9.

Pauli - do you know if wire tapping is legal in a case like this? I mean I watch tv:shrug1: but that's not ALWAYS real.
They would have to get a judge to sign an order for a wire tap.. If they could find one to do that it would be legal.

The only thing that I have heard relating to weather is that if under water or extreme heat, decomposition is faster. But thats all I've heard.

EXCERPT
Bailbondsman Tony Padilla, who flew in to Orlando from California to post Casey Anthony's $500,000 bond, said he could have secured her release Tuesday had he filed all the paperwork by 9 a.m.
But he didn't — and now, thanks to various procedural tie-ups, it's looking increasingly likely that the money won't be paid until about dinnertime Tuesday, he told FOX.
The delay will probably buy the 22-year-old brunette with wide eyes and a big smile another night in the slammer in Orange County, Fla.

Casey Anthony's Top Ten Alleged Lies

Alleged Lie #10 - Casey told her family that Caylee would be home for her third birthday on August 9.
http://blogs.discovery.com/criminal_report/2008/08/casey-anthonys.html
Thank you, Pauli, there have been so many - this is a good list.
I had forgotten something on the list that Casey had said, I think that it might lead to the 'chink' or weakness in Casey's armour.
Alleged Lie #1 -[/B] On or around June 9, Casey told her parents that she had arranged for Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez to babysit Caylee so she could go on a business trip as a requirement of her employment with Universal Studios. She later changed her story and stated that she was going on a short vacation with friends. Meanwhile, Casey told her friends that Caylee had gone on a vacation with her babysitter.
When she was spinning tales for people she was trying to con (sorry, I can't think of a better word,) she not only makes up stories, but makes them bigger than they need to be.
1. she didn't have a babysitter for Caylee, she had a nanny
2. she initally told her parents she had to go out of town on a business trip, something that would indicate that her job had some degree of power - entry level employees generally don't attend business meetings out of town
3. she told LE that she had her own office at Universal Studios the day that she took them there - again, an indication of power in the corporate picture. Didn't she work in a kiosk?
ETA: 4. Caylee's father is deceased. He didn't simply die, he died on the way to one of Caylee's birthday parties. What's that all about?? I would think that would lead some people to ask her more questions about him, on the assumption that they were close.
I can't even begin to understand Casey, so I don't know what her exaggeration of her position means - an insecurity on some level or simply a need to appear to be more than she is? The point is, I think that she needs to (or at least does) give those she is lying to the impression that she has greater power/control than she does. If someone were to talk with her and manage to figure out what that "soft spot" of her is, I think her ego would allow her to be pushed into saying something she didn't intend to because she has to maintain her fictional image. General population in the jail might have been the perfect place for this to play out. JMO. :shrug1:

POSTED: 5:00 pm EDT August 19, 2008
UPDATED: 5:31 pm EDT August 19, 2008
EXCERPT
Channel 9 has learned that Tampa-based Al Estes Bail Bonds is involved in efforts to release Casey from the Orange County jail. Their slogan is "We'll put your feet back on the street."
Casey's freedom from jail rests with a mysterious bail bondsman from California who does not want to show his face.
Sacramento bail bondsman Tony Padilla, whose bounty hunter uncle Leonard has been handling public and media relations related to Casey, told Channel 9 on Tuesday that completing a transfer bond from California to Florida is turning out more complicated than first expected.
Tampa bondsman Al Estes registered with the Orange County jail, last Friday, to handle bonds of up to $500,000. The paperwork documents a deal between Estes and the Padillas' Houston, Texas-based insurance company. There could be a snag involving Estes' insurance company.
"They need to make sure that the agent here in Florida was not {going to] be held responsible if something happened to the bond," explained Orlando bail bondsman John Vonachen.
Channel 9 also learned that the Padillas are trying to get a judge to add a global positioning system (GPS) ankle monitor to the terms of Casey's bond. This is to protect them even more against financial risk. As it is now, Casey would already have to wear an electronic proximity monitor if she is released.
Local bondsman John Vonachen is disgusted with the way the Padillas are handling the case. "They've taken the focus off of where it should be, and that's on Caylee. They've made a circus out of this," said John.
The Anthony family's emotions are running very high. During Monday night's edition of Nancy Grace, on CNN, Casey was called a punk. After the program, Casey's mother, Cindy Anthony, confronted the crew off camera.
We're also hearing that Al Estes could be backing out of the bond deal but we have not been able to confirm that through his company, and he has not returned our calls.

3. she told LE that she had her own office at Universal Studios the day that she took them there - again, an indication of power in the corporate picture. Didn't she work in a kiosk?
I can't even begin to understand Casey, so I don't know what her exaggeration of her position means - an insecurity on some level or simply a need to appear to be more than she is? The point is, I think that she needs to (or at least does) give those she is lying to the impression that she has greater power/control than she does. If someone were to talk with her and manage to figure out what that "soft spot" of her is, I think her ego would allow her to be pushed into saying something she didn't intend to because she has to maintain her fictional image. General population in the jail might have been the perfect place for this to play out. JMO. :shrug1:

Thank you, Pauli, there have been so many - this is a good list.
I had forgotten something on the list that Casey had said, I think that it might lead to the 'chink' or weakness in Casey's armour.

I think she needed to feel important because Cindy controlled every aspect of her life, expect for her clubbing and sex life. Important people aren't perceived to be controlled by others. If she has a nanny, she 'controls' someone else.

It would remove the possible assumption that she didn't know him or that he didn't still care. She gave herself a "relationship" with Caylee's dad, so it wasn't all about Caylee. imo

This is very interesting. The first report I heard about the Padillas said they would use a Tampa-based BBM to bond her out; then that person disappeared from the picture and it was only Tony Padilla Bonds and the Texas insurance co. they are in business with - the ins. co. is licensed in FL, so Tony could bond her out based on that association. Now the FL bondsman is back in the picture. Odd. :shrug1:

It sounds like the FL bondsman is sick and tired of them. If they were sincere they should have come to FL, took care of business and stayed out of the media. I still firmly believe this is a publicity stunt.

I've suspected it all along, with the need for them to post $50k and now the reappearance of the other bondsman, I think it's very possible that it was a planned failure - they still got the publicity, too bad it wasn't what they had expected. JMO

EXCERPT
Tampa bondsman Al Estes registered with the Orange County jail, last Friday, to handle bonds of up to $500,000. The paperwork documents a deal between Estes and the Padillas' Houston, Texas-based insurance company. There could be a snag involving Estes' insurance company.
"They need to make sure that the agent here in Florida was not {going to] be held responsible if something happened to the bond," explained Orlando bail bondsman John Vonachen.

Now, that may be why Padilla seems so eager to believe Caylee has been taken and is alive. But I would think that if there was a good reason to believe that, the FBI would be all over it! Since they're not, I just doubt it's possible.

I heard him talk about it twice, the two stories weren't identical. He and his wife were at a soccer game when his daughter was 3, they were leaving and looked at each other and asked "where is Julie?" The first time he told it, it sounded like the wife of a soccer player had her and was trying to find them in the huge crowd; the second time, she was several blocks away and a soccer player's wife pulled her away from a woman. Neither of these are verbatim and he talks rather vaguely - I'll see if I can find transcripts.

I think it's likely he and his wife did briefly misplace their daughter 38 years ago, all parents do it no matter how careful we are :blondblush113268230, but he's probably told and embellished the story so many times that now it's grown to be a life-threatening event.

I can't fault them for doing something - and I doubt the things they have found would have been turned up by anyone else ever.
What were detectives doing at the Anthony home? 45 min is what I was told, but I missed the show!
Not real sure on that either. :shrug1:

One factor may be that Florida's laws don't allow L. Padilla to track her if she escapes; he's not licensed there. :shrug1:
There is more blaming going on in this case! :frustratedf: I wish they would expend all of that energy looking for Caylee. :cray:
I think it's all one big stunt!

TY
Is a prelim like a mini trial, for lack of a better word, or am I thinking of something else?
It's a "what are we gonna do with her now" kinda thing: Let her go, press more charges, Lower or raise her bail...that sorta thing.
O/T Sorry I am not much help today, my tv is still having problems and is cutting in and out.

At least these people are doing something! Those critics should search rather than ham it up for cameras. What, if any, searching are LE doing? I just don't get it. All the focus is on Casey and her bail and blah, blah, blah. Who is trying to find Caylee?
Something is funky here, I tell ya. I have to believe that LE knows much more than they let on. I'm sure some preliminary tests on the car are back at least.

"We eat in the same room, sleep in the same room. After a while, these people feel better than sitting in a cell looking at the walls, and they will discuss things that they won't discuss with parents or anybody else," Leonard Padilla said."
