Search Is On For Missing Dayton Woman

DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton police said they are trying to find a missing woman.

Angela Hild, 37, has been missing for more than 24 hours, and detectives and family members suspect that the woman's husband had something to do with her disappearance.

The husband, identified as Michael D. Hild, 43, was recently released from prison. Police said he has been threatening violence against her and they want to find her to make sure he's not planning to carry out any of those threats.

Angela Hild lives at 1957 Tuttle in Dayton. Police said she and her husband dropped off their 5-year-old son at school Thursday morning and that's the last anyone has seen or heard from them.

Police are looking for two possible cars that the two could be driving. One is a 1996 Chevrolet Prism that belongs to Angela Hild. The other car, a 2002 green Chevrolet Impala belongs to her husband.

If you have any information about Angela or Michael Hild, please contact the Dayton Police Department at 333-COPS.

Officers in Melbourne, Florida said 43-year-old Michael Hild ran away from them after a minor traffic accident. Hild shot at police officers and police shot back.

Dayton police said they wanted to question Hild in the disappearance of his wife, 37-year-old Angela Hild.

She was last seen on Thursday dropping off the couple’s 5-year-old son at school, police said.

Angela Hild is still missing.

Police Believe Angela Hild Was Abducted
UPDATED: 5:34 pm EDT August 26, 2008

DAYTON, Ohio -- New information was released Tuesday about the disappearance of a Dayton woman.

Dayton police now believe Angela Hild, 37, was abducted by her husband and is in extreme danger.

During a news conference Tuesday morning, investigators confirmed that 43-year-old Michael Hild was the man killed during a shootout with police in Melbourne, Florida.

His wife has been missing since last Thursday when she dropped her 5-year-old son at school. Her mother became alarmed when she did not pick the boy up at the end of the school day.

Authorities said Michael Hild was involved in a traffic accident in Melbourne on Saturday night.

According to police, Hild left the scene and while trying to escape, he fired shots at officers. They returned fire, killing him.

Police are worried about Angela's safety because she had just filed a restraining order against her husband, who had just been released from prison a month ago. They are also concerned because she has not contacted her child, which is very unusual.

According to investigators, the couple had a history of problems, many of which were violent. Police said they believe it's possible that Michael Hild may have harmed his wife because he had threatened her.

Investigators are looking for Angela Hild’s car. The car is described as a 1996 Geo Prism. The car is black with 4 doors.

The car also has Ohio license plate number DGK1420.

If you have any information on Angela Hild’s whereabouts, contact Dayton Police at 333-COPS.

Missing woman aided fellow student
Teacher says Angela Hild was 'friendly' and 'went above and beyond in her assignments.'

DAYTON — Angela Hild went out of her way to help a young woman in her English class who was in an abusive relationship, Hild's English instructor said Tuesday, Aug. 26.

"I remember one student who was fresh out of high school and there was some stalking going on," said Laura Elizabeth, an adjunct English instructor at Sinclair Community College. "Angela walked the young woman to her car in the parking garage. She said nobody should be afraid."

Police are afraid for Hild's well-being. She has been missing since Thursday, Aug. 21, when she failed to pick up her 5-year-old son from school.

Police believe Hild's husband, 43-year-old Michael Hild, abducted her Thursday and fled the area in his green Chevrolet Impala. On Saturday, He died in a gun battle with Melbourne, Fla., police following an apparent hit-and-run accident.

She took Elizabeth's English 112 class in spring 2007.

Hild "stood out because she seemed to be almost fighting so hard for her education," Elizabeth said.

"She just seemed to be under financial or time restrictions."

Still, Hild "went above and beyond" in her assignments, Elizabeth said, adding "she would be friendly, but she would say what she thought."

Dayton police Sgt. Tom Flanders said Michael Hild was violent and known to carry guns in his prosthetic leg. He lost his real leg in a gunfight with Michigan police years ago.

Michael Hild was in prison twice, once in 1985 and again in 1992, on burglary convictions and receiving stolen property.

The Hilds had been married since 2001. Montgomery County court records show Angela filed for divorce in 2004, but reconsidered six months later.

She obtained a temporary protection order against her husband on Sunday, Aug. 17.

Missing woman talked of abuse
Sinclair English instructor says Angela Hild 'talked about it in conversations and her papers.'

DAYTON — Angela Hild was trying to re-create herself at Sinclair Community College, according to one of her English instructors.

Leaving her husband, Michael D. Hild, 43, and his physical abuse was part of that renaissance, adjunct English instructor Laura Elizabeth said.

Elizabeth said Angela Hild, 37, wrote about being abused.

"She talked about it in conversations and her papers," Elizabeth said. "You could just tell it was something she had to deal with in the past."

Dayton police said they have few clues about Angela Hild's whereabouts and little hope she's still alive. Hild went missing Thursday, Aug. 21, and police believe she was abducted by her estranged husband. The odds of finding her worsened Saturday, Aug. 23, when Melbourne, Fla., police shot and killed Michael Hild after he fired a gun at officers. The officers were chasing him on foot after an apparent hit-and-run accident, Melbourne police said.

Dayton Special Victims Unit Sgt. Tom Flanders said the search for Angela Hild has become a "recovery" effort.

"We certainly fear for her well-being," Flanders said.

All that's known about Michael Hild's actions and whereabouts between Thursday and Saturday is that he stole Michigan tags off a car in Kentucky and put them on his green Chevrolet Impala. Police are still looking for Angela Hild's 1996 black Geo Prism.

Hi Grande

Thanks for adding this information.

It is sad to read that LE are on a recovery mission. I hope they find Angela soon, if for no other reason than to lay her to rest.

I've been trying to find out where the little boy is staying, but haven't been able to. Of course, I might have missed it too. I just hope there is extended family for this little boy.

DAYTON — After interviewing family and friends of Michael Hild and his missing wife, Angela Hild, Dayton police are "certain she has been murdered," Dayton Police Lt. John Huber said Wednesday, Aug. 27. He declined to elaborate.

Angela Hild, 37, of Tuttle Avenue has been missing since Aug. 21, when she failed to pick up her 5-year-old son from school.

Police said Tuesday they believe her husband abducted her that day. He was shot and killed Saturday in a shootout with Melbourne, Fla., police after a traffic accident.

Huber said detectives have been talking with family and friends of the Hilds. Those interviews led police to recovering Angela Hild's 1996 Geo Prism at the Woodman Park apartment complex near Woodman Drive and U.S. 35 on Wednesday. Police found the car about 3 p.m. and towed it away to be examined by detectives.

Sarah Steele, a Woodman Park resident, said a neighbor first noticed the car Tuesday morning while walking a dog and that it stood out because few cars are parked in that lot.

Husband may have wrapped body in tarp
Police believe that Michael Hild killed his wife last week and may have dumped her body.

Friday, August 29, 2008

DAYTON — Police said they are now certain Michael Hild killed his 37-year-old wife on Thursday or Friday of last week and might have dumped her body.

Dayton detectives are pumping family and friends who last spoke with the couple for information, but still don't know where Angela Hild's body might be, Sgt. Tom Flanders said Thursday, Aug. 28.

But investigators said they believe Michael Hild might have wrapped his wife's body in a black tarpaulin.

Flanders said evidence suggests Angela Hild was not killed in her car, which police recovered Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 27, in the parking lot of the Woodman Park apartment complex, near Woodman Drive and U.S. 35, after talking with friends and family of the couple.

Rust on the car's disc brakes and debris around the car indicate it was in the parking lot several days, Flanders said.

Investigators believe Michael Hild stole Michigan plates off another Chevy Impala and put them on his Impala in a town just off Interstate 75 in Kentucky, near the Ohio border.

They are not sure what other stops he made before being shot by Melbourne, Fla., police during a gunfight on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Flanders said Michael Hild's death has made it more difficult to locate his wife's body.

"In my experience, these are some of the most unusual ... circumstances surrounding a missing person," Flanders said. "We have little hope that she is alive."

Angela Hild was reported missing Aug. 21 after she failed to pick up her 5-year-old son from school.

In a 911 call on Aug. 16, Angela Hild said her husband was threatening to kill her
By Lucas Sullivan

Saturday, August 30, 2008

DAYTON — Angela Hild called 911 on Saturday, Aug. 16, and told a dispatcher her husband was on drugs, banging on her front door and threatening to kill her and their 5-year-old son, according to a copy of the call released by Dayton police.

"He told me that if (he couldn't) have me that he was going to be suicidal and kill us all," Angela Hild said during the 911 call she made about 8 p.m. "He's on drugs and I am scared to death."

Angela Hild has been missing since Aug. 21, and police this week said they are "certain" she is dead. Investigators believe her husband, Michael Hild, abducted and then killed her before he died in a gun battle with Melbourne, Fla., police Aug. 23.

Melbourne and Dayton police said they now believe Michael Hild, 43, robbed a Walgreens Pharmacy store in Orange County, Fla., at gunpoint. The robbery preceded a traffic accident that led to the fatal gun battle.

Angela Hild told the 911 dispatcher Aug. 16 she had recently separated from her husband and he had beaten her three weeks before. Hild said she had "film" to prove it.

"He's trying to get into the house and I am scared to death," she said, adding he had moved out that afternoon.

When officers arrived at 1957 Tuttle Ave., Michael Hild was gone and Angela Hild was crying.

She told officers she recently observed her husband carrying jewelry and electronics into her house, according to a police report.

She said she overheard Michael Hild, who was on parole after being released from prison July 18, telling someone on the phone that he burglarized a house in the Bellbrook area, according to the report.

As officers were speaking to Angela Hild, her husband called. She put her phone on speaker mode and officers wrote in their report they heard Michael Hild say, "You didn't give them the stuff, did you? Please tell me you didn't give them the stuff."

One of the officers asked Michael Hild, 43, if he would meet them at Second District headquarters, but he refused, the report said.

Angela Hild, 37, said she wanted to press domestic violence charges against her husband. She was ordered in to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's office Aug. 18, where she filed for a temporary protection order, Sgt. Tom Flanders said.

On the morning of Aug. 21, Angela and Michael Hild dropped their 5-year-old son off at a Riverside elementary school, Flanders said.

Angela Hild has not been seen or heard from since.

Weekend incidents might have led to man killing his wife
By Lucas Sullivan | Friday, August 29, 2008, 10:03 AM

...

DAYTON — Michael Hild might have killed his wife because he feared he was about to go back to prison for violating terms of his probation, according to police reports.

Angela Hild called 911 at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, and said her husband was banging on her front door at 1957 Tuttle Ave.

According to the 911 audio, Angela Hild said Michael Hild was out front with other people and threatening her and their 5-year-old child. She said he was on drugs and she feared for her life.

She then broke down and cried.

Officers arrived a few minutes later to find Angela Hild still crying, but Michael Hild had already left. She said Michael Hild was “threatening to kill her” and the couple’s 5-year-old son, according to a police report.

Michael Hild, 43, told his wife “I have nothing to live for,” the report said.

She also told police she saw her husband carrying jewelry and electronics into her house that day, according to a police report.

She told officers she overheard Michael Hild, who was on parole after being released from prison on July 18, telling someone on the phone that he had burglarized a house in a rural part of Bellbrook, according to the report.

As officers were speaking to Angela Hild, Michael Hild called. Angela put her cell phone in speaker mode and officers heard Michael Hild say “You didn’t give them the stuff did you? Please tell me you didn’t give them the stuff,” according to the report.

Angela Hild gave officers two bracelets, a necklace and a watch that Michael Hild had brought to the house.

Angela Hild told police her husband had a prosthetic leg — stemming from a gunfight with Michigan police years ago — that he uses to hide guns.

Angela Hild, 37, said she wanted to press domestic violence charges against her husband and was ordered into the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s office on Monday. There, she filed for a temporary protection order, according to Sgt. Tom Flanders.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, Angela and Michael Hild dropped their 5-year-old son off at a Riverside elementary school, Flanders said.

Angela Hild has not been seen or heard from since.

Police said they are now certain she is dead after interviewing friends and family members of the couple.

Investigators believe Michael Hild might have wrapped his wife’s body in a black tarp and dumped her somewhere.

The search for her body became more difficult on Saturday, Aug. 23, when Michael Hild was shot and killed in a gunfight with Melbourne, Fla., police.

Police believe Angela’s body could be anywhere between Dayton and the Atlantic Ocean coast of Florida.

Anyone with information is urged to call 333-COPS.

DAYTON, Ohio -- Detectives investigating the disappearance of Angela Hild, now say they believe the local woman was killed in Dayton and dumped somewhere between here and Florida.

Police say this is still a recovery effort and they feel strongly that Hild was murdered and it was her now-deceased husband who committed the crime.

Hild went missing on August 21st when she didn't show up to pick up her son at school.

Officers believe her husband, Michael Hild abducted and killed hern, then dumped her body somewhere along the I-75 corridor between Dayton and Miami Beach, Florida.

Michael Hild was killed by police during a shooting in Melbourne, Florida two days after his wife went missing.

On Thursday, police said they are certain that someone local knows where Angela Hild's body is right now.

They are making a plea for information and they say they won't put this case to rest until she is found.

Sgt. Tom Flanders said, "We're asking for the help, we need the help. We feel strongly that we know what series of events happened. We would like to recover the body for the family and her son, the extended family, and this investigation will continue forever until we do."

Sgt. Flanders said he understands that some people with information may be afraid to come forward. However, Flanders said any information can be given anonymously. You can send an anonymous letter to the Dayton Police Department or call 333-COPS.

Police need help on missing woman information

DAYTON — Police investigating the disappearance of Angela Hild believe family and friends of her late husband know where her body can be found, and the police are asking someone to come forward with that information, said Lt. John Huber.

Angela Hild has been missing since Aug. 21, and police have said they are certain she is dead. Investigators believe her husband, Michael Hild, abducted and killed her before he died in a gun battle with Melbourne, Fla., police Aug. 23.

Huber said associates of Michael Hild have supplied some information, but investigators believe they could reveal more, including the whereabouts of Angela Hild's body.

"Maybe they think we're going to find the body on our own, and maybe we will," Huber said. "But we're asking if you know where the body was placed, why don't you go ahead and call in anonymously and give us the information?

"We need to give some closure to this woman's mother and father."

Huber said they are fairly certain that Michael Hild killed his wife in Dayton and then left the area traveling south on Interstate 75. He said investigators searched for Angela Hild's body in Kentucky in the area where Michael Hild apparently stole a license plate, but that search turned up nothing.

Huber said investigators are also trying to develop more details about how and why Michael Hild ended up in Florida. Police believe he robbed a Walgreen's Pharmacy in Orange County, Fla., and he was killed in a gun battle that followed a traffic accident later.

Search for missing woman's body focused in northern Kentucky
By Lucas Sullivan

Staff Writer

Thursday, September 11, 2008

DAYTON — Investigators said Thursday, Sept. 11, that search for Angela Hild's body has been narrowed to northern Kentucky near Interstate 75.

Angela Hild, 37, has been missing since Aug. 21 after she failed to pick her 5-year-old son up from a Riverside elementary school. Police said they are "certain" that Hild was killed by her husband, Michael Hild, 43, soon after she went missing, Lt. John Huber said.

The search has been narrowed after detectives spoke with family and friends of both Angela and Michael Hild, Sgt. Gary White said. He added that detectives have been in contact with law enforcement agencies in Kentucky and they have begun to search for her body.

It was near Erlanger, Ky., where Michael Hild stole Michigan tags off a car and put them on his Chevy Impala. He was not seen again until Saturday, Aug. 23, when he was killed in a gunfight with police in Melbourne, Fla.

Huber said investigators are also trying to develop more details about how and why Michael Hild ended up in Florida. Police believe he robbed a Walgreen's Pharmacy in Orange County, Fla., and he was killed the gun battle that followed a traffic accident.

Police think a missing Dayton, Ohio woman may have been killed and dumped in Erlanger. Angela Hild hasn't been seen for weeks. Police believe her husband, Michael Hild, killer her before he died in a shootout with police in Florida. So, why did this force Erlanger Police to mount a search for a body?

Local 12's Joe Webb has the developing story alert.

Interstate 75 brings a lot of stuff through Erlanger. Last month, a phone call from Dayton Police said the highway may have brought them a dead body.

Lt. Kevin Gilpin, Erlanger Police: "We were contacted by Dayton on August 27th and advised they were involved in a homicide investigation and they had information stating the victim of this homicide, Angela Hild, was dumped somewhere in the Erlanger area."

Hild has been missing since August 21st. Her car was found by Dayton Police a few days later, but not her. The week before she disappeared she got a protective order against her husband, Michael. Michael Hild was shot 18 times in a gun battle with police in Melbourne, Florida, two days after his wife disappeared. Police have video of a man they believe this is Hild, limping through a Florida drug store that was robbed, shortly before the shootout. Hild has a prosthetic leg and was known to hide weapons in it.

Police say Hild told a friend in Dayton he'd dumped his wife's body in Erlanger. Erlanger Police spent two full days searching a huge area along Interstate 75 and 275...much of it wooded. They used cadaver dogs, quad-runners and the Hamilton County Sheriff's helicopter. They found nothing. Police believe Angela Hild is dead. Michael Hild was the chief suspect. They don't know where her body is but believe he definitely came through Northern Kentucky.

"He had Michigan license plates on his vehicle when he was down in Florida that the Melbourne, Florida police located. Those plates were stolen in Crescent Springs, off the Buttermilk Pike area."

Police say they were stolen off a car parked at an apartment complex, shortly after Angela Hild disappeared. So, the victim is missing. The suspect is dead. And Northern Kentucky may just be in the middle of a tragic beginning and end.

Angela Hild was reported missing after she failed to pick up her five-year-old son at school. Police believe Michael Hild robbed that drug store in Florida before he died. He was shot after he fired shots at police and ran away from a traffic accident.

ERLANGER -- Erlanger police are continuing to work with Dayton, Ohio, officials, although no more searches have been planned for the body of Angela Hild. She is believed to have been killed by her husband Aug. 21 and dumped along Interstate 71/75, near Interstate 275.

Her husband, Michael Hild, was killed in a gunfight with police in Melbourne, Fla., two days later. The car he was driving had a Michigan license place stolen from a car in Crescent Springs.

Dayton police said Michael Hild had called someone in Ohio before his death to say he had dumped his wife's body off an interstate near the airport.

On Aug. 27 Erlanger did a preliminary search but did not find her body, police said. The next day, they conducted an "exhaustive search" that included a dozen officers, two dogs, two four-wheelers and the Hamilton County Sheriff's helicopter without success.

DAYTON — Every time Angela Hild convinced herself to leave her abusive husband, his prison letters would promise a better life that didn't involve fists.

And a relationship rehabilitated by faith.

Those same promises from Michael Hild had his wife nervous but excited to see him on July 18 when he was released from prison, Angela Hild's friends and family members said.

Michael Hild, 43, a career criminal, was imprisoned in February for parole violations. He said this time he was ready to be a father to their 5-year-old son and was developing a faith in God.

"No matter what people think she should have done, she loved Michael," said Maria Barrett, a friend of Angela Hild for more than 16 years. "It's too bad it cost her everything."

It's been a month since Angela Hild disappeared.

Dayton police detectives are certain she was killed by her husband on Thursday, Aug. 21, or sometime the next day. They came to the conclusion that Michael Hild wrapped his wife in a tarp and left town after talking to his family, Lt. John Huber said.

Michael Hild resurfaced Aug. 23 when he walked into a Walgreens pharmacy in Orange County, Fla., and demanded pills at gunpoint, according to Orange County Sheriff's Office and Melbourne Police Department. He drove away in his green Chevrolet Impala, but was spotted by Melbourne police that night.

The Impala bore Michigan tags Hild stole off another Impala in Erlanger, Ky.

A chase ensued. After colliding with another car, Hild bailed out of the car and shot at the officers. They shot Hild multiple times, according to the Brevard County Coroner's Office.

Meanwhile the search for Angela Hild's body has pinpointed Erlanger, Ky., said Lead Dayton homicide detective Gary White. Police have asked agencies in that area to search for Angela Hild.

Both agreed they were 'incompatible'

Michael Hild was in jail on aggravated robbery, burglary and assault charges when the couple married in November 2001. He was in jail for violating terms of his parole when Angela Hild filed for divorce in September 2004.

Michael Hild said in divorce papers he was dependant on his wife's $62,000 a year income from the General Motors plant in Moraine. He said he was "permanently disabled" after his leg was amputated.

Dayton police said he lost the leg after he was shot by Michigan police years ago.

Angela Hild said in divorce papers the couple was "incompatible" and her husband had displayed "extreme cruelty" during their marriage. Michael Hild agreed the two were incompatible and said in court documents he prayed the divorce be granted. He accused his wife of "adultery" and said she was "engaged in criminal activity that would seriously jeopardize the defendant's recovery and rehabilitation."

A background search found no criminal record for Angela Hild.

By Christmas 2004, the Hilds began to talk of reconciliation, relatives said. He wrote letters begging Angela Hild to stop the proceedings, Barrett said.

In February of 2005, Angela Hild withdrew her request for a divorce.

"He promised he would be better and he had been meeting with the prison chaplain," Barrett said. "She took him back because he said he had changed."

Experts say Angela Hild's reluctance to leave her husband for good is common among abused women.

"Generally women who are abused try to leave seven times before they leave for good," said Tyra Jackson, director of Project Woman, a victim's of abuse house in Springfield. "They have to have a safety plan in order to escape the relationship."

Much had happened while Michael Hild was in jail from February to July 18 for parole violations. Angela Hild, 37, had accepted GM's buyout offer and was thinking of opening a gourmet dog biscuit shop in Centerville.

She had rented out her house in Kettering and was living in her recently deceased grandfather's house at 1957 Tuttle Ave. to help pay her tuition at Sinclair Community College.

Michael Hild attended her graduation from nursing school on June 25, Angela Hild's family said. The next day Michael Hild beat his wife. She took pictures of the wounds, but didn't call police.

On Aug. 16, Angela Hild did call police after she saw her husband carrying electronic equipment and jewelry into her home, according to a police report. She told officers she overheard him on the phone telling someone he had burglarized a home in rural Bellbrook.

She had had enough and told Michael Hild to get out of her house, the report stated.

He left that afternoon but came back at about 8 p.m. and banged on the door. He threatened to kill his wife and their 5-year-old son, Angela Hild told police.

If he couldn't have her, then no one could, were his words she repeated to the 911 dispatcher.

"He's on drugs and I'm scared to death," Angela Hild said, as she began to cry.

Michael Hild was gone by the time police arrived.

Five days later so was Angela Hild.

And she hasn't been seen since.

DAYTON — Every time Angela Hild convinced herself to leave her abusive husband, his prison letters would promise a better life that didn't involve fists.

Remains Found Of Missing Dayton Woman?
Jill Del Greco, Reporter
Monday, October 27, 2008 – updated: 6:17 pm EDT October 27, 2008

DAYTON, Ohio -- Authorities said they are investigating the possibility that a body found in Kentucky Monday afternoon is that Angela Hild, who has been missing from Dayton since August.

Officials said a maintenance worker cutting grass near the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport found the skeletal remains at approximately 8:30 Monday morning. However, no positive identification has been made.

At the start of the investigation, Dayton police officials said they believed Hild's body was dumped somewhere in Kentucky. They said they had reason to believe Hild was kidnapped and later killed by her husband, Michael.

Michael Hild was killed a short time after his wife's disappearance, during an unrelated shootout with Florida police.

Since the body's discovery Monday morning, Dayton police said they have been in contact with Kentucky authorities. However, they said they will not speculate on whether or not the remains are that of Angela Hild.

Body found on airport land
HEBRON - Authorities are trying to identify a body found Monday near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

A maintenance worker was mowing grass on airport property near Donaldson Highway and Point Pleasant Road when he found the skeletal remains about 8:30 a.m., said airport spokesman Ted Bushelman. The area where the body was found was a subdivision that was bought by the airport several years ago, he said. Most of the houses in the area have been torn down and the area is flat and covered in brush. The body was in a found in a wooded area off Piedmont Circle, about 300 feet off the road, said Boone County Coroner Doug Stith.

The body will be sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for examination by state forensic anthropologist Emily Craig, Stith said. It could be several days before the body is identified, he said.

Stith would not speculate on whether the partially clothed body belonged to a man or a woman. The body had been there for some time “but I don’t think it’s been years by any stretch of the imagination,” Stith said.

The remains are possibly that of Angela Hild, 37-year-old a Dayton, Ohio woman, who has been missing for two months, Stith said.

“It’s a possibility,” he said. “We’re going to try to work on that avenue.”
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Police and the Boone County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.

Authorities have notified Dayton police, Stith said.

Hild is believed to have been killed by her husband Michael Hild on Aug. 21, then dumped in Northern Kentucky. Two days after his wife’s disappearance, Michael Hild was killed in a gunfight with police in Melbourne, Fla.

The car he was driving had a Michigan license place stolen from a car in Crescent Springs.

Before his death, Michael Hild called someone in Ohio and said he had dumped his wife’s body off an interstate near the airport, Dayton police said. On Aug. 27, Erlanger police did a preliminary search but did not find her body. The next day, they conducted an “exhaustive search” that included a dozen officers, two dogs, two four-wheelers and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s helicopter without success.

Michael Hild, 43, had been released from prison about a month before his wife went missing, according to the Dayton Daily News. He was career criminal who had lost a leg in a shootout with police in Michigan, the paper reported, and was known to carry a gun in his prosthetic leg. He spent more than 10 years in prison for aggravated burglary, receiving stolen property and parole violations.

Body Found at Cincinnati Airport

A body is found at the airport in Boone County.

It may be two days before we know if the body is that of a missing Dayton, Ohio woman.
A maintenance worker was cutting the grass on Piedmont Circle this morning when he found the remains.

The area is an old subdivision that the airport bought.

Most of the homes have been raised.

The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's office.

We're told an i-d on the body won't be available before Wednesday.

Erlanger police spent two days last month searching wooded areas along I-75 and 275 for Angela Hild, who has been missing since August.

Dayton Police called Erlanger about a week after she disappeared to say they had information Hild was dumped somewhere in the Erlanger area.

Police never found her body.

Michael Hild was the chief suspect in the case.

Angela Hild had a protective order against him.

Michael Hild was shot 18 times and killed after a robbery in Florida, just days after Angela Hild disappeared.

He had Michigan plates on his car that were stolen from Crescent Springs.

Body found near airport believed to be missing Dayton woman

Dayton police are communicating with officials in northern Kentucky about a body discovered there that could be that of Angela Hild, a Dayton woman who has been missing since August.

Lt. Chris Williams said the department is compiling information to share with officials in Boone County, Ky., where the body was found Monday, Oct. 27.

Ted Bushelman, spokesman for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, said an airport employee trimming weeds about 8:30 a.m. on the eastern part of airport property discovered what he termed "skeleton remains" in a bundle.

The employee called airport police, which then turned the investigation over to the Boone County Coroner's Office, Bushelman said.

Coroner's officials are transporting the remains to Frankfort, Ky., to the state medical examiner, he said, noting that the weather has been so dry this summer that airport employees have trimmed the grass on the property only a few times.

Hild has been missing since Aug. 21, and Dayton police have said they are certain she is dead. Investigators have sid they believe her husband, Michael Hild, abducted and killed her before he died in a gun battle with Melbourne, Fla., police Aug. 23.

Dayton police detectives hand-delivered dental records to the Boone County, Ky., Coroner's office today, Oct. 28, in hopes they will help identify a partially-clothed human skeleton found wrapped in a sleeping bag near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Monday.
Detectives believe the bones might be those of 37-year-old Angela Hild, a Dayton woman missing and feared dead since Aug. 21, but Boone County Coroner Doug Stith said Tuesday a positive ID has not been made.
"I probably won't have anything until possibly Thursday," Stith said. "We are looking at skeletal remains here, so we are looking at dental records and other indicators to see if this could be her."

The remains were found by an airport worker mowing grass near Donaldson Highway and Point Pleasant Road about 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Stith described the area as wooded and said the scene where the bones were found was one "consistent with someone dumping" the remains there. The scene is about about 300 feet off the road.

He would not comment on whether the person was a man or a woman, but Dayton police Lt. John Huber said women's clothing was found at the scene.
Stith said the body's exposure to hot weather, animals and insects could have caused it to decompose rapidly in a short period of time. He said the bones were not there for a "long period" of time.

Dayton police feared Angela was dead after speaking with some of Michael Hild's relatives. They knew of Michael Hild's actions around the time his wife disappeared, Sgt. Tom Flanders said.

Those interviews led detectives to believe Angela Hild's body was wrapped in a tarp or blanket and dumped somewhere by Michael Hild.
Michael Hild was shot to death on Aug. 23 during a gunfight with Melbourne, Fla., police after he allegedly robbed a Walgreens store in Orange County, Fla.

Dayton police asked authorities in Erlanger, Ky., last month to help in their search for Angela Hild after learning her husband stole license plates from a car there, Sgt. Gary White said. That search, which included 12 officers, two dogs and the Hamilton County sheriff's helicopter, turned up nothing.
Michael Hild was an abusive husband and a career criminal, according to Montgomery County court records. He was released from jail in mid-July after a probation violation. The couple had a 5-year-old son who now lives with Angela Hild's relatives.

Police Identify Body As Angela Hild

Wednesday, October 29, 2008 – updated: 6:11 pm EDT October 29, 2008
DAYTON, Ohio -- It's been two days since a maintenance worker at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport found skeletal remains while cutting grass.

Now, a positive identification on the body has confirmed that it is the remains of a missing Dayton woman, Angela Hild.

Local authorities say airport police notified them of the identification late this afternoon.

The Dayton mother had been missing since August. Hild was last seen dropping her young son off at school.

All along, police in Dayton thought the body would be found somewhere in that area. They believe Hild was abducted and killed by her husband, Michael.

Michael Hild, who had a long criminal past, was killed in a shootout with Florida police several days after his wife disappeared.

Body Found At CVG Identified

Last Update: 9:13 pm

Boone County Coroner Doug Stith has identified the body found on the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport’s property Monday as Angela Hild.

Stith says her cause of death has been ruled a homicide and it appears she died from stab wounds.
A maintenance worker cutting down high grass found skeletal remains off of Cessna Place, located just east of the airport.

Two months ago local police were searching property in and around the airport for Hild after being contacted by detectives in Dayton, Ohio.

Police there say they received information that Michael Hild had dumped his wife's body in Northern Kentucky.

Michael later died after getting into a shootout with police in Florida during a robbery.

I feel so bad for Angela's son and the rest of her family. There are just no words to describe what has gone on in so many marriages. With some people they seem to have no respect for anybody and seem to think that this behavior is right.
I don't know what the answers are for this epidemic. Maybe a lot of these people who kill their spouse have no feeling or caring for their spouse. How dare they think it is ok to take away another persons life just because they don't like what the spouse is doing or wants a divorce.

My granddaughter is almost 19 and she has been seeing a guy for about 3 years now and she told me they had talked about marriage but they have decided to wait and finish their schooling and so forth. I agree and am glad that they are waiting because it will mean so much more to her to finish her schooling and develop a career before settling down to have a family. I really like this guy, but you can rest assured I won't tell my granddaughter that. I found with raising my own girls that if I told them I liked one of their friends they would find another friend.
With the way the world is now I would be afraid to date anyone. The world is just not safe anymore.
