I wonder if they've had any news of this child since her disappearance. Prayers go out that she is safe and for her family.

The first poster did not list a contact number, that is why I put the second one up.
I called the Forest Acres Police Dept. and spoke with Carol. She checked her records and said when they did the quarterly reports July 10, 2008, Tammy was still missing.
She is originally from Spartanburg, SC so the Department of Social Services in Spartanburg has her case. The case worker is Tomeka Posey. Tammy was in Carolina Children's Home in Columbia when she ran away.

http://www.carolinachildrenshome.org/images/tommy.jpgTommy arrives at Carolina Children's Home at 4:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, confused, scared, and unaware of why he was removed from his home when it was his parents who abused and abandoned him. It will take countless affirmations, timeless talks, and full acceptance to start rebuilding the future he felt was so quickly stripped from him. Let the rebuilding begin.
Carolina Children's Home, once an orphanage is now an accredited residential treatment facility dedicated to the care and needs of today's child. We are proud to offer a full continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of children and families. The majority of the children who reside in one of the residential programs or receive services may have been the victim of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. The level of care provided for a child is dictated by the severity of a child's case, behavioral needs, experiences and required amount of supervision.
Children's lives are rebuilt daily as the highly trained staff at the Home design individual treatment and structured activities to focus on nurturing self-esteem, overcoming issues of abuse and neglect and improving emotional and behavioral development. We provide a home for over 100 children in need of out-of-home placement.
For nearly a century, the Home has responded to the needs of children and will continue to rebuild futures as long as there is a call to do so.

Mission Statement
The mission of Carolina Children's Home is to enhance the quality of life for children and families. Our primary service is to provide a home for children when they are unable to live with their family. We support this with a range of prevention and treatment programs that ensure continuity, are family focused and are community based.

Oh nanabillie, this is so sad to me. I hope this teen is ok and does not run into the wrong kind of people on the street.

Heartbreaking and I do pray she is safe and sound somewhere. :1222423:

Emme, I feel the same way. I just would love to find her and put my arms around her. Then bring her home and show her lots of love. I pray that God will lead her to someone that will do exactly that.

I wish there was some place I could check for this child. I printed flyers out and sent them to be put up since I could not do it. That and pray.

When they did the quarterly reports, Tammy was still missing?

I'm at a loss for civil words right now, but if this were my daughter I'd be absolutely livid about that response.

Tammy's poster is no longer on the Missing Kids site. I will call Columbia and see what I can find out.

OK. I could not get the Forest Acres Police Dept. The recording said the number was changed.

I called the National Hot Line. Chris said as of this morning they are activily working her case.
Wonderful!
Maybe I overlooked her poster. I will check again.

That makes me feel better than any thing I have taken for pain. I wonder if she is back at the Children's Home or her home?

I'll pm Faith and put her reply here if they told her.
