I don't know if we have any College Football fans, but I thought I'd start a thread about it anyway.

Well tonight is the night. USC vs. Ohio State. I'm not real optimistic about Ohio State's chances tonight, but I have lived much of my life, in Ohio so go Bucks, even though, I'm not real confident.

Another team I'm fond of Notre Dame, had a heck of a day today against a Michigan team I still don't know what to think of yet.

Iggles are on tonight at 8 - they're 2-1 so far. Will keep my fingers crossed they do well this year. Like Penn State, they're about due.

Maybe the Phillies being in the playoffs will inspire them. But, we'll just have to wait and see.:shrug1:

I'll tell a quick story, my father passed on shortly before the start of the 2005 football season, in addition to being a Nittany Lion fan he was also a Steelers fan. As the Steelers went on to the Superbowl that year I have always suspected that he was upstairs pulling strings to get his beloved Steelers, one more Superbowl trophy. I'm starting to think he has turned his attention to college football this season.

It's not only the game, it's the crowd and enthusiasm. Got a story for you about college football shirts. When my ex and I lived in Omaha he had a customer that was a die-hard Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Every home game he organized a bus trip to Lincoln for the game. We all met at the little neighborhood bar that most of the folks frequented, quite often I might add. Well, as luck would have it, that first trip that I took on that bus Nebraska was scheduled to play LSU. Now get a jist of this.....everyone absolutely wore red. I mean red shirts, red pants, red hats - well you get the picture. I had one a red parka, but underneath that parka I was all LSU. Since I was a newbie on the bus, the organizer called me up to meet everyone that I hadn't met prior to leaving Omaha. He preceeded to tell everyone that I was from Louisiana and they had a Nebraska convert on the bus. I said "Well, not quite and then took a small pom-pom out of one of my pockets - Nebraska. Out came the other pom-pom - LSU. Everyone :groan:'ed and booed me. I them said, I'm not done yet. Took off my "red" parka and lo and behold. There I was standing in a sea of red with my custom made LSU shirt that my brother had made up for me and sent it to Nebraska. The back had LSU in huge letters and the front had Mike the Tiger on the shoulder with LSU underneath....and......across my boobs......"The Fightin' Tigers". Never lived that episode down but had great fun doing it.:girl_haha:

BACKUP QB RALLIES #3 PENN STATE OVER BUCKEYES (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/27372326/)

updated 10:07 p.m. PT, Sat., Oct. 25, 2008
COLUMBUS, Ohio - A late turnover and a second-team quarterback made the difference for Penn State. For a change, everything went right for Joe Paterno and the Nittany Lions at Ohio Stadium.

Pat Devlin came off the bench for injured starting quarterback Daryll Clark in the fourth quarter and led two scoring drives, sneaking in for the go-ahead touchdown to give No. 3 Penn State a 13-6 victory over No. 10 Ohio State on Saturday night.

“How many times have I told you Pat Devlin is a heck of a quarterback?” coach Joe Paterno said after his 381st career victory. “We’re lucky to have two quarterbacks.”

If your team isn't on at 2:30 today you should check out the LSU vs. Alabama game. The SEC should be at it's best game play today. I'm a Major Alabama fan, and my second team is LSU. LSU may have lost some games, but their hatred for Nick Saban and the fact that Alabama is ranked #1 will make this a very exciting game!!!! If you just love football, this is one you won't need to miss! Good luck to everyone's teams today!
