CHICAGO -- An autopsy Sunday determined some of the bones found on the South Side Friday were human and ruled the death a homicide.

Two sets of bones were found Friday near East 110th Street and South Stony Island Avenue, said the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

A Saturday autopsy on the first set of bones determined they were not human. However, a Sunday autopsy revealed the second set of bones are human remains and the person died of a gunshot wound to the head. The death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Cooper turned himself in at the Palatine police station. He was accompanied by a lawyer.

From a myspace created for Jesse.....

The sad truth about what happened to our lovely Jesse...

They said Beskow was seated at a table when a 24-year-old man shot him in the head.
However, instead of notifying authorities, others present at the party carried the body to a bathtub, washed off evidence, wrapped the body in a blanket and drove it to Chicago in the trunk of a vehicle.

Jesse has been found and we are bringing him home. Jesse passed suddenly on July 25th 2006. After being gone for two years and with no one having any idea where he might be. We all just came to the conclusion that he moved to Wisconsin like he had planned. Sadly that wasn't the case at all and now we are learning from people coming forward what he was doing his last few days on this earth.

Indictment in case of Jesse Beskow's murder......

October 23, 2008

An Ingleside man was indicted today in the death of a man whose skeletal remains were found last month in a wetland on the Far South Side of Chicago.

Preston Cooper, 24, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jesse Beskow, 20, whose last known address was in Fox Lake.

The two men attended a party on July 25, 2006, at a condominium in Palatine, where Cooper's girlfriend lived, authorities said.

Cooper had a gun and reportedly told Beskow he could blow his brains out, a prosecutor said. When Beskow told him to go ahead, Cooper fired, the prosecutor said.

Cooper, who is being held without bond, appeared in handcuffs in the Rolling Meadows Court House. Family members declined to talk after his brief appearance in court.

Cooper's girlfriend, Jacqueline Gallagher, 20, has been charged with concealing a homicide.

Nov. 30 Sentencing Date Set In Beskow Murder Case

After a three-day trial, a jury found an Ingleside man guilty of murdering a man in Palatine.

Preston J. Cooper, 24, was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder on Thursday, Oct. 22. The jury took less than two hours to return with their verdict, according to a spokesperson from the Cook County State's Attorney's office.

During a party in the 900 block of East Wilmette Road on July 25, 2006, Cooper shot and killed Jesse M. Beskow of Fox Lake. People at the party allegedly removed Beskow's clothing, bathed his body, wrapped him in a blanket, and carried him out to a vehicle.

Cooper's father and his girlfriend, Jacqueline M. Gallagher, 20, of Round Lake Heights, later drove Beskow's body to a wetlands area in Chicago near the Calumet Incinerator where they left him in 12-foot weeds. On Sept. 22 of 2008, investigators learned of the alleged murder; they located Beskow's remains a few days later. Cooper was taken into custody on Sept. 30, 2008.

Gallagher was sentenced to three years in prison after she pled guilty to a charge of concealment of a homicidal death in a Rolling Meadows courtroom on Mar. 26.

She was paroled on Sept. 25 and is scheduled for release from parole on Sept. 26, 2010.

A sentencing hearing for Cooper is scheduled for Nov. 30 in the Rolling Meadows courtroom of Judge Thomas Fecarotta, Jr. Cooper has been held with no bond in Cook County Jail since his apprehension.
