OJ SIMPSON ISOLATED IN JAIL, FOCUSES ON APPEAL (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27036700/)

updated 1:58 p.m. PT, Sun., Oct. 5, 2008
LAS VEGAS - O.J. Simpson is being isolated from other prisoners for his own safety, and is focusing on a motion for new trial and an appeal to reverse his conviction for kidnapping and robbery, his lawyer said Sunday.

Attorney Yale Galanter told The Associated Press he will continue to pursue a request for Simpson to be released on bond pending appeal.

Meanwhile, Galanter said Simpson will be living a lonely life, advised by his lawyers to do no media interviews and allowed to see only family members and a few friends placed on a special list at the jail.

Simpson will be held in Clark County Detention Center until his Dec. 5 sentencing, then is expected to be transferred to state prison. Because of the seriousness of the charges, it is likely that Simpson would remain in jail during his appeal.

"He is in isolated custody and being protected from other inmates," Galanter said aboard a plane as he prepared to return to his Miami office. "The jail is taking very special precautions to make sure he is safe."

Galanter said that this will make for a difficult incarceration for the gregarious Simpson, because "it limits his contacts with other humans."

The attorney said Simpson was OK during a jail visit Saturday where they discussed future plans for the case. "He's disappointed and a bit melancholy," he said.

Galanter said the appeal cannot be filed until after Simpson is sentenced.

"We are planning to fast track that as much as possible," he said.

The 61-year-old Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering five men a year ago and storming a room at a hotel-casino to seize Simpson sports mementos — including game balls, plaques and photos — from two collectors. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one testified Simpson had asked him to bring a gun.

In a nutshell.......You said it all!! :hifive:

B/c oj simpleton was found not guilty of a double murder
by a LAME jury in Cali....He's untouchable for whatever
crimes he commits as far as the simpleton apologizers
are concerned.

Even if he committed murder on the street or robs
all banks in the USA....give him a pass.

The mindset of the simpleton lovers just knocks me over.:thud2:

Precisely

OJ Simpleton got what he deserved. The jury rocked, imo. They never considered the murder; only discussed the facts of this case and the laws of Nevada. I heard seven of them speak this a.m. from a presser from yesterday.

Other THs and defense attys said CJ might get a reversal but OJ will not.

Now, I'm enmeshed in the economic crisis. Where do we go next friends? Spector where???? Hugs to all and watch your money - carefully. :kissyface4:

She's just plain stupid.

She said a year ago, this case would never come to trial.
(She said it many, many times.)

It came to a trial.

She said most if not all charges would be dropped. Wrong
again....Charges were added.

Not reduced or dropped.

She said, OJ would never be found GUILTY.

He was found GUILTY on ALL 12 COUNTS.

I think her crystal ball is still clouded and fuzzy, like her
brain or lack of brain.

DeeJay..It's my opinion, that JF has put the whole issue back by decades with her spewing..geesh..she blames racial biased against those that ruled on evidence..that was so clearly presented...She cant be saying no Black person can get a fair trial.??..as to Celebrity..OJ cant get a air trial even if he is guilty...hummmm..something doesnt ring clear there..Then there is the double standard..Geesh Jamie Floyd is one blight on Insessions...Court TV by association..She is a reversed racist herself..at least by her public persona..I wonder what her hubby feels about her blantant anti---position??He is a lawyer too..he is "White" Jamie is plain and simple a bigoted personality and TTV gives her a venue!!..Somebody should point this out to CNN/Warner/Insessions..She is a weenie..something I reserve for idiots!!

On the CTV bb's, over the years, I've blatantly posted
MANY times, she's a racist. Never made any bones
about it. Ppl like her are dangerous & the networks
are allowing her to go on and on and on with her racist
remarks and attitudes b/c CNN basicly are all racists...
that's how she gets away with it.

She's more white than black but too stupid to know it.

Oh and her hubby is a FOOL.

I was thinking back on the "Dream Team" folks. Here is what I realized: Cochran is dead, Kardashian is dead, Shapiro has a son that I think died of an overdose, F.Lee Bailey was disbarred, nothing good happened to any of these people after O.J.'s trial. Maybe his current lawyer will fare better than the others did. JMHO

It is my humble opinion that Jami Floyd is coached by CNN producers to raise everyone's shackles, to be that dissenting racist (if you will) voice, to piss people off and get you talking. Frankly, when's she on, I turn it off - just like Elizabeth Hasselbeck on The View whose opinions, often, I may agree with but simply can not stand the way she presents them.

And I don't know wth Jean & Beth are doing these days,
but they have sure put on some wrong info during this
trial. I think they're in the OJ camp as well....Had thought
it before but now I am convinced.

Jean said on NG one night, Scotto owns a home here.
NO he does not, Ms Jean C.!

She also said, CJ Stewart's home is a "Big, big house."

NO, it is not, Ms Jean C.! It's a normal sized house and
no pool....plain landscaping. (Unless she's counting the
BIG house known as CCDC, and soon to be in another BIG house).
Nothing flash or extraordinary about the Stewart place.

Shoot fire! Now the Beth quotes have slipped my mind.

Some of the questions Beth asked the jury, her demeanor,
body language & the questions she asked were more like
she was a prosecutor and she was doing cross exam of
hardened criminals.

One of her questions/comments to the jurors was something like: "He didn't rob a bank. It's not like he tied anyone up." AND....she said it in a snotty way, IMO. CLEARLY she at the very LEAST believes the case was overcharged, and that he was found guilty of some bogus charges. JMO

Glad to see it just wasn't my imagination. I wanted to slap her down. If I'd been there, she & I would have
had a "talk" afterwards. I would point out her indignity
to our LV jury & how her bias did not go unnoticed.

Yeah, like all OJ lovers and apologists, she can whinge all
she wants but to no avail.

Beth & Jean saw the videos & heard the tapes just like the
rest of us so how they can imply he was found guilty b/c
of the murders just falls on deaf ears.

Beth & Jean knew the Nevada Laws on those charges long
b4 the trial started, so for Beth to ask such sarcastic
questions to the jury makes me so damn angry!!

From this point onwards, I do not like Beth & Jean.

LAS VEGAS - O.J. Simpson's lawyers cited judicial errors and insufficient evidence Friday in seeking a new trial for the former football star, who was convicted of kidnapping and robbing two sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a casino hotel room.

"Simpson should be granted a new trial," attorney Gabriel Grasso wrote in a motion faulting Clark County District Judge Jackie Glass' decisions during jury selection, her limitations on cross-examination of witnesses during trial and her instructions to jurors before deliberations.

Quite surprised to read this...they both have been very professional in the past. N o matter what the journalist's opinion is, NO jury should be second guessed by a supposedly unbiased media...including the one which acquitted this defendant 13 years ago.
