Early reports are that the mother of Jennifer Hudson was murdered. Some kind of domestic violence.

CHICAGO — A man and woman were found shot to death Friday at the Chicago home of actress and singer Jennifer Hudson, police say, and multiple news outlets have reported that one of the victims is Hudson's mother.

MyFOXChicago is reporting the second body is that of Hudson's brother.

Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond says the deaths appear to be the result of domestic abuse and also issued an Amber Alert.

Authorities were looking for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban missing from the area around the home with 7-year-old Julian King inside, Bond said. The child was also possibly a relative of Hudson, she said.

Calls to Hudson's representative and attorney were not immediately returned.

The Cook County medical examiner's office says officials were dispatched Friday afternoon to the house.

Police tape blocks access to the large, white house, where a crowd has gathered outside.

Public listings show a Jennifer Hudson and Darnell Donerson registered at the address. Hudson grew up in Chicago and her mother's name is Darnell Donerson.

Just heartbreaking Rockford, her Mother was one murdered, not sure about the other one and who was the

I just saw on the Today Show that the boy is still missing even though they have a suspect in custody. He's apparently a family friend who has lived in the home. He also has done prison time for violent crimes.

The mother and brother of Oscar-winning American actress Jennifer Hudson have been shot dead and her seven-year-old nephew is missing, police said.

The bodies of Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were found at their family home in Chicago on Friday.

Police are searching for the actress' nephew, but a suspect thought to have abducted him was arrested, reports say.

Hudson's whereabouts are unknown but her publicist confirmed the incident.

"We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson," Lisa Kasteler, Hudson's personal publicist, said in a statement.

Deputy police chief Joseph Patterson said Ms Donerson's body was found on the living room floor of her home in the south side of Chicago. Jason Hudson's body was discovered in the bedroom.

Both had "fatal gunshot wounds", he added.

Investigators say there did not appear to be any sign of forced entry.

Police have cordoned off access to the large white house.

'Armed and dangerous'

"Currently we're looking for a 1994 white suburban vehicle that's missing from the location as well as a seven-year-old African-American child," said deputy chief Patterson.

Authorities have issued a Amber Alert for Julian King.

Police said in a statement that he might be in the company of a suspect in the murder investigation, but later local media reports said that the suspect had been taken into custody and did not have the child with him.

Hudson, 27, a singer-turned-actress who shot to fame on American Idol in 2005, won an Oscar for best supporting actress in the hit-film Dreamgirls in 2006 and starred in the film Sex and the City.

She is currently starring in The Secret Life of Bees.

The FBI have been called in to hunt for the seven-year-old nephew of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson, a day after her mother and brother were found with multiple gunshot wounds at her Chicago home.

Hudson's brother-in-law William Balfour is currently being questioned by police as a suspect, but he has not been charged. He was at first thought to have kidnapped his son Julian King, but the seven-year-old was not with him when he was found.

Detectives said the double murder was a 'domestic incident' that had got horribly out of control.

She visited the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office overnight with other family members to identify the bodies of her mother and brother, according to the office.

The 27-year-old has cancelled her trip to Japan on Monday, where she was promoting her new album.

A statement from her representative Lisa Kasteler said: 'We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson.

'No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.'

Neighbours reported hearing gunshots at 9am on Friday. Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson said Hudson's cousin entered the home around 3pm and after finding Darnell on the living room floor left to fetch help.

Officers then found Hudson's mechanic brother Jason, 29, dead in the bedroom, Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry.

Darnell, 57, was shot in the head while Jason was shot in the chest. At least one of the victims had 'defensive wounds' police said.

Hudson's sister bus driver Julia reported her son as missing after work on Friday.

Balfour married Julia in 2006, but his mother Michele Davis Balfour told the Chicago Sun-Times they have been experiencing problems in the last few weeks and were separated.

'I didn't raise no murderer,' Michele Balfour insisted. 'He was not a child abductor. They have the wrong person.'

Police confirmed they were speaking to 'a number of suspects' besides Balfour.

Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle.

Hudson, whose father Samuel Simpson died when she was a teenager, has described herself as very close to her family.

Boy's body found on Chicago's West Side

CHICAGO (AP) - Police searching for Jennifer Hudson's missing 7-year-old nephew say they've found the body of a young black boy in an SUV. There is no confirmation on the identity of the body.

A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office says they've sent investigators to the scene. A spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department refused to comment Monday.

Julian King hasn't been seen since Friday. That's when Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death in their home.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the 7-year-old and were looking for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban. The Oscar-winning actress offered a $100,000 reward for his safe return.

Julian is the son of Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson.

Police on Sunday transferred custody of a "person of interest" in the killings to state authorities.
