How sad. I think it was last week Sean Hannity was making the comment that Obama's grandmother wasn't that sick. When elderly people have surgery, sometimes pneumonia sets it. All kinds of things happen. I was so hoping she could hang on. She must have been so proud to see him make it this far.

For his grandmother and his family. :1222423:

That is so sad to hear... I feel for the loss the Senator and his family will have. From everything I have read and heard she was a very important part of his life. I am so glad he was able to suspend his campaign for a couple of days last week to spend some time with her. :1222423:

I was listening to CNN tonite and his grandmother was an inspector for Boeing during wartime! When all the men were overseas, she helped with the wartime effort here. Later on, she became a VP in the banking industry. All this was accomplished back during a time when women weren't encouraged to work outside the home at all. What a lady! A wonderful legacy for her family.

She died from cancer. Here is a beautiful story about her, including these words which Barack told the crowd here in Charlotte today ~

"She's gone home," Obama said as tens of thousands of rowdy supporters at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte grew silent in an evening drizzle.

I'm sorry she didn't live to see tomorrow also.

For Barack and all Madelyn's family :1222423:
Rest in Peace, Madelyn :1222423:

Regardless of your politics, you have to feel sad that she couldn't have lived long enough to see the results of the election, which ever way it goes.

How sad for the Senator to have this loss on the eve of his most important day ever.

That's just how I felt when I heard she'd passed away. So close and yet her tragic illness overcame her before this historic day. I'm just glad he was able to see her last month. :1187603408.CR.Mothe
