Police: Woman, 90, was living with 3 siblings' bodies

Nov. 8, 2008, 6:24PMShare Print Email Del.icio.usDiggTechnoratiYahoo! BuzzEVANSTON, Ill. — A 90-year-old woman apparently has been living in a house with the bodies of her three siblings, one of whom may have been dead since the early 1980s, police in suburban Chicago said.

The bodies were found Friday morning by police who were called by a senior advocate, said Evanston police Cmdr. Tom Guenther.

The 90-year-old woman was taken to a hospital for observation. The Cook County medical examiner's office said Saturday that the people had died of natural causes, but it would not say how long they had been dead.

At 90, I have to wonder if she had any idea what she was doing. But dead bodies for possibly 20 years??? Boggles the mind. There had to be decomposition. :0009:

How sad! I wonder if they just went to sleep, died, and in her mind she continued to let them sleep.

Sad to even think of it but the surviving siblings may have simply needed the SS income and all they had was each others.

All the sibs had to be in cahoots with the idea of leaving the dead in the home. If not, when the first one died, someone would have called the medical examiner or funeral home. Maybe for the SS as TigressPen said. Weird. 90 but it would depend if she was lucid or not. I know several 90 year olds and they are sharp as a tack. Strange things go on in this world. Wonder the motive.
