MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis police have issued a City Watch Alert for a missing 16 year-old boy who may be in danger.

According to investigators, 16 year-old Samuel Tyler Riley has been missing since about 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2008.

Police say Riley has mental health issues and has not been taking his medication. The 16 year-old may be living in a wooded area behind his home in the 1300 block of Wells Station Road. Authorities say Riley appears to be malnourished and unkempt. He has refused help and made fatalistic statements to his family members.

Samuel Tyler Riley is described as a white male standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has brown cropped hair, hazel eyes and tattoos on both upper arms.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen 16 year-old Samuel Tyler Riley to call the Juvenile Abuse Division at (901) 545-5330.

I pray this child is found and soon. The fatalistic comments mentioned in the article is worrisome.

16, not on his meds, malnourished and unkempt??? Where are the adults here and why is he appearing not to be taken care of? I realize 16 year olds are "at that age" but surely there is an adult figure responsible enough to see hes taken care of properly. I just hope he's safe and comes home soon. It's far to cold these days for these kids to be out there missing.
