Middletown police are looking for a 17-year-old girl who disappeared Sunday afternoon from her grandmother's house in the township's Snowball Gate section. The girl is Amber Evans. She is about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds and has light brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a white coat, white sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers. Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. She snuck out of a back window at her grandmother's house in Silverbell Road, police said. Amber had just come home last week after spending more than 50 days in a drug rehabilitation center in northeastern Pennsylvania, according to her father, Chris Evans, and Middletown police. "We're worried, and we're really concerned about her," Evans said Monday evening. Amber is listed as a missing person on the National Crime Information Center's database. However, because of her age and because she is not thought to be abducted, an Amber Alert has not been sent out, the family and police said. Anyone with information regarding Amber's whereabouts is asked to call Middletown police at 215-949-1000 or Amber's father at 267-278-3240.
