DAVIS (CBS13) ― Authorities are searching for a UC Davis professor who went to his campus office on Sunday and hasn't been seen since.
Richard Langan Walker, Jr., a Professor of Veterinary Microbiology, was last seen driving a red 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with California license plate 8G85565.
Family members called authorities after Walker left his house early afternoon on November 30 and never returned. Surveillance video shows Walker leaving his office after 2:45 p.m., the last time he was seen.
Authorities say Walker was not in possession of his cell phone, credit cards or medication, and the Davis Police Department fears he is depressed or suicidal. Walker's case is being treated as an 'at risk' missing person case.

UC Davis Veterinary Professor Reported Missing
DAVIS, CA - A UC Davis veterinary professor is missing and is considered at risk, according to Davis authorities.
Richard Langan Walker, Jr., 56, was last seen on surveillance video as he went in and around his campus office between 11 Sunday morning and 2:45 p.m., said Davis police Sgt. Scott Smith.
Walker, who is a professor of veterinary micro-biology at the university, had left his home Sunday without taking his cell phone, credit cards or medications, Smith said. Family members later found correspondence indicating Walker was probably depressed and possibly suicidal.
When last seen, Walker was driving a red, 2007 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck with California license plate number 8G85565.
Anyone who has information about Walker or his pick-up truck is urged to call the Davis Police Department at (530) 747-5400.

DAVIS, Calif. -- A professor at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, who family members said may be depressed and even suicidal, is missing, Davis police said Monday.
Richard Langan Walker Jr., 56, was last seen in his office at the UC Davis campus between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. Walker has not been seen or heard from since, police said.
Walker did not have his cellular phone, credit cards or medications when he disappeared.
He was last seen driving a red 2007 Toyota Tacoma truck with a California license plate of 8G85565.
Walker, who is a professor of veterinary micro-biology, is considered an "at-risk" missing person, officials said.

DAVIS - The Davis Police Department is investigating the disappearance of a 56-year-old UC Davis professor, who is possibly suicidal and has not been seen since the early afternoon hours on Sunday.
Missing is Richard Langan Walker Jr., who is a professor of veterinary micro-biology in the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
Walker was last seen driving a red 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup, California license No. 8G85565.
Davis police reported that according to family members, Walker left his residence during the early Sunday afternoon, stating he was going to his office on the UCD Campus.
Surveillance photographs show Walker in and around his office between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., but he is seen leaving shortly thereafter. Walker has not been seen or heard from since.

Richard Langan Walker, Jr., a professor of veterinary microbiology in the School of Veterinary Medicine, has not been seen since Sunday afternoon, according to a press release from the Police Department.
Walker told his family he was going to his office on campus. Surveillance photographs show he was in and around his office between 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., but he has not been seen or heard from since he left his office shortly after 2:45 p.m., police said.
He did not have his cell phone, credit cards or medications. Walker left correspondence for family members that indicate he is possibly depressed and may be suicidal, police said.
Police consider him an at-risk missing person and his vehicle, a 2007 red Toyota Tacoma pickup with the California license plate 8G85565, has been entered into a nationwide computer system.
Davis police are working with the UC Davis Police Department on the case.

A missing University of California, Davis, professor has been found dead in Sonoma County, an apparent suicide victim, police say.
The body of Richard L. Walker Jr., a veterinary professor, was recovered late Monday after it washed on shore at the Salmon Creek State Beach in Bodega Bay, Davis police Sgt. Scott Smith said in a news release.
Personal property and items recovered from Walker's vehicle at the beach area indicate he committed suicide, Smith said.
The Sonoma County Coroner's Office is investigating Walker's death.
Family members reported Walker, 56, missing at 1 a.m. Monday. Walker had left his home late Sunday morning and was heading to his office on campus.
Surveillance photos show Walker had been at his office between 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., and then left.
Walker was an expert in bacteriology and veterinary pathogens key to animal agriculture, his faculty profile on UC Davis' Web site states.
His research work included infectious disease, clinical veterinary bacteriology and mycology, and using molecular diagnostic techniques in clinical bacteriology.

BODEGA BAY, Calif. -- The body of a UC Davis professor who was reported missing was found Monday afternoon along a beach in Bodega Bay after an apparent suicide, police said.
Richard Langan Walker Jr., 56, was last seen in his office at the UC Davis campus between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Sunday.
His body was found along Salmon Creek State Beach.
The professor of veterinary microbiology was considered an "at-risk" missing person, officials said.
The death is under investigation.
