POLK COUNTY, FL -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office is searching for an endangered Auburndale man with Alzheimer's disease who is also on several different medications.

78-year-old Allan G. Schreiner of 200 Mohawk Road in Auburndale was last seen by his wife leaving his home at 2:10 Monday afternoon.

According to his wife, Mr. Schreiner should be driving his tan 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck with Florida tag J15 CXR. He is 5'11" 210 pounds, he has gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing brown shorts, a gray polo-style shirt and tennis shoes. He also uses a crutch for a bad left knee.

POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- A 78-year-old man is missing in Polk County the sheriff's office says.

According to the sheriff's office, Allan G. Schreiner, of 200 Mohawk Road in Auburndale, left his home Monday at 2:10 p.m. and has not been seen since then.

The sheriff's office says Schreiner has Alzheimer's disease and takes several medications.

Schreiner has gray hair, brown eyes, weighs 210 pounds and is 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was driving his tan 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck with Florida tag J15 CXR. When he was last seen, he was wearing brown shorts, a gray polo-style shirt and sneakers.

His wife says he has a crutch for a bad left knee.

AUBURNDALE - The Polk County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing and endangered 78-year-old man tonight and has requested the help of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in issuing a Silver Alert.

Allan G. Schreiner, of 200 Mohawk Road in Auburndale, left the residence he shares with his wife today around 2:10 p.m. and has not been seen since, the Sheriff's Office reported.

Schreiner has Alzheimer's disease and is on several different medications, including blood pressure medication, which he is not carrying with him.

Schreiner is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes. He should be driving his tan 2005 Chevrolet Silverado truck, with Florida tag J15 CXR. He was last seen wearing brown shorts, a gray polo-style shirt and tennis shoes.

According to his wife, he uses a crutch for a bad left knee.

AUBURNDALE - The Silver Alert issued for a missing and endangered elderly man from Auburnale has been canceled.


The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported around 2 a.m. Tuesday that 78-year-old Allen G. Schreiner had been found safe in Wauchula in Hardee County.

The search for Schreiner began Monday night. The Sheriff's Office reported that he had left his home on Mohawk Road in Auburndale around 2:10 p.m. Monday and had not been seen for several hours.

Schreiner was described as having Alzheimer's disease and being on several different medications, which he was not carrying with him.

Schreiner had left the home he shares with his wife in his tan 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, according to the Sheriff's Office.
