Missing West Hartford Man's Car Found
The Hartford Courant
1:33 PM EST, December 1, 2008
WEST HARTFORD - Police said today that they found a missing man's car parked at Charter Oak Landing in Hartford.
Inolfo C. Lopes, 75, of West Hartford, was not with the car, but left a note, police said, that led them to believe he took his own life. A search of the Connecticut River by Hartford police divers is under way, West Hartford police Det. Capt. Paul Melanson said.
Police on Sunday asked the public for help in finding Lopes. A caller spotted the car at Charter Oak Landing and called police, Melanson said. Police do not suspect foul play, he said.
Lopes, of 57 Grissom Drive, was last seen on Saturday at about 12:15 p.m. near Westfarms mall. He was described as white, 5 feet 8, weighing about 175 pounds, with dark, receding hair. His son, Tom Lopes, said his father may be disoriented due to a reaction to medication.
