This is so disgusting. How could anyone let their mother live in a home under these conditions. I sure hope they find her son and I hope they ask him some pretty strong questions.
I pray this woman will get the help she needs and gets better.

Her family members hadn't seen her since January? Just her caretaker son who let it get this bad? How sad.

I hope her son, the supposed caretaker, is charged with neglect and abuse!! This is abominable!!

With her cats and romance novels to keep her company, retired Galveston County sheriff's Deputy Linda Sue Sainz rarely ventured from her Texas City home. Struggling with health problems, the 62-year-old woman stayed inside for weeks at a time with her son, who had lived with her almost all his life.

hmmmm, I'd really like more details about this son that allowed his mother to get in this kind of shape. Also, I'd like more information on the mother. Wonder if she was the type that refused medical attention, etc. and the 38 y/o son did the best he could? Never know so I won't jump to conclusions. The older son said he had not spoken with his mom or seen his mom since January. What is up with that? What about other family members?
Terrible that she was found in that condition. Worst of the worst but I'd still like the story behind this.

There could be a lot more to this if she is considered competent and if it's her house how can her son tell her what to do. Maybe his hands were tied. Although if he saw she was real weak or sick he should have got some help no matter what.

I'm glad that she is getting better, maybe the other brother doesn't live in the same state. I hope they find the caretaker son for questioning.

I watched video of that house and it was totally deplorable. If her son was her caretaker then he didn't visit her often or didn't mind living in or having her live in total filth.
