BALDWIN PARK - The family of a missing 75-year-old women is becoming increasingly concerned as her disappearance enters its second week. Police have released a photo of the woman in the hope that someone has seen her.
Lucia Juarez left her home on the 3000 block of La Vista Avenue on Nov. 25 at 4:30 p.m. after a fight with her son.
"We have called every hospital in LA County, gone to convalescent homes, talked to everybody we could and we haven't had any success," her granddaughter Nicole Juarez said.
The family's concerns have mounted since Wednesday when Lucia's Social Security check was deposited; although the woman usually withdrawals it right away, it has not been touched.
"She is a person of habit - she gets her Social Security check first thing when it is deposited. It concerns us she is in some kind of condition that hasn't allowed her to do this," Nicole said.
Her children and grandchildren are also worried because she is diabetic and needs daily insulin shots.
"She needs medication. She can't be surviving this long without some kind of intervention," Nicole said.
Lucia has lived in Baldwin Park for 20 years and is often seen walking around her neighborhood or riding the Baldwin Park trolley. She frequents WalMart, the Baldwin Park Denny's and King Taco.
Lucia is 5 feet tall, 125 pounds, and has green eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing tan pants and a light brown or dark sweater.
Anyone who may have seen her is encouraged to contact Baldwin Park Police at 626-960-1955.
