Maricopa Police issued an alert Thursday afternoon after a local teenager turned up missing.
Pragathi Kathleen Schmidt was last seen at home on West Hooper Drive the morning of Dec. 3. Police are concerned as to the wherabouts of the 17-year-old because she suffers from sever bi-polar disorder and multiple-personality disorder and has been off her medication for several days.
Schmidt is a four-foot eleven-inch black female, weighing 90 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information to Schmidt's whereabouts are being asked to call police at (520) 251-6373.

Missing teen found safe in Northern Arizona

The Maricopa Police Department is reporting that a local teenager, reported missing, has been found.

Pragathi Kathleen Schmidt had last been seen at her residence in Homestead on Wednesday morning. Thursday afternoon an alert was put out by Maricopa Police. Schmidt suffers from sever bi-polar and multi-personality disorder and had been off her medication for several days.

Early this morning, she was picked up by Flagstaff Police and is on her way home to Maricopa. “We are pleased to report that the juvenile is safe and well,” said Maricopa Police spokesman Sgt Stephen Judd.

A teenager that went missing from Maricopa Wednesday morning was recovered early Friday by Flagstaff Police.

Pragathi Kathleen Schmidt, 17, was last seen at home on West Hooper Drive the morning of Dec. 3, before being located unharmed in the city of Flagstaff.
Maricopa Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Judd said Schmidt reportedly hitchhiked her way to that city sometime on Wednesday.

She entered a Catholic social services center in the city early Friday, which contacted Child Protective Services. CPS made arrangements with Flagstaff Police to pick up Schmidt from the shelter, which then coordinated the return of the girl to her legal guardians in Maricopa.

Police were concerned as to the whereabouts of the teenager because she suffers from sever bi-polar disorder and multiple-personality disorder and was off her medication for several days.
