Silver alert issued for Sampson County man

A Silver Alert was issued for a missing Sampson County man believed to be headed to Fayetteville, according to the N.C. Center for Missing Persons.

Ronnie Young Crabtree, 42, was last seen on N.C. 24 in Turkey.

Officials believe he may be riding his yellow bicycle to Fayetteville.

He is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, a release said.

Crabtree is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds.

He has gray-brown hair and blue eyes.

RALEIGH 12/6/08 6:12 PM -- At the request of the Sampson County Sheriff Department, the N.C. Center for Missing Persons has cancelled the Silver Alert for Ronnie Young Crabtree.

Turkey, N.C. — A Silver Alert was canceled Saturday for a 42-year-old Sampson County man.

The alert was issued late Friday for Ronnie Young Crabtree.

Crabtree was found safe at the home of a family member in Raleigh, officials said.

Thank goodness Ronnie is safe.
