The 22-year-old Chandler woman thought to be missing Monday after what appeared to be a burglary is safe, police said Tuesday morning.
Irene Perry contacted family members who informed detectives that she had been safe all along and there had been no burglary, said Detective Frank Mendoza, a police spokesman.
Police responded to a report of a possible burglary at Perry's apartment at 4800 Alma School Road around noon. Perry was not there, and detectives received reports that she had a physical struggle at the home with a man earlier in the day. She hadn't been seen since 9:30 that morning.
Since receiving word that the Perry is safe and that there was no burglary, detectives have closed the case, Mendoza said.
