I wonder if the white dress might be a nightgown?

How scary. Hope they knock on a lot of doors in the area to make sure all children are accounted for and they my find a good news explanation too.

If the school has all children accounted for then the possibility remains that the child is younger than initially thought. I hope they find her.

Missing Girl Report Was Hoax
Tuesday, December 9, 2008

ATLANTA -- Police said a report of a child abducted near a MARTA station was a hoax that wasted police manpower and money.

The 911 call about a child grabbed by a man near the West Lake MARTA station turned out to be a lie, according to Atlanta police officials.

The initial report sparked a three-hour search that included dozens of officers, tracking dogs and mounted officers.

Police began to have suspicions after checking nearby schools and finding no unaccounted for children. No parents had reported a missing child.

Authorities said they are considering charges against the person who made the first 911 call and are calculating the cost of the search.

Maybe she was homeschooled...or not put in school at all. Maybe she was from another city or state.

It seems weird to me that it was already ruled a "hoax". The FIRST caller is being looked at as being a liar? Was there more than one? I hope this is not a little girl who fell between the cracks....

If it is a hoax I hope the person is in big trouble. If not I hope it doesn't scare off the next person who wants to call in something they saw.

Better safe than sorry...

I was thinking that also.

It is scary because there are cases where children are moved to a different place and never enrolled in a school. Sometimes neighbors don't even know the child lives in the neighborhood. Sometimes children are abducted and taken to other places and of course they wouldn't show up as unaccounted for because no one ever knew they were there. Hopefully, it was a hoax and no child was harmed. IMO
