I'll keep my eyes open and looking as I travel around Meridian and ask my daughters to do the same. This is the first I've heard of Lashonda missing. :( I pray she is found safe and soon.

I hope she is found soon. I wonder why it took awhile before the news reported it.

Here's a link to the news network that reported on her missing. Hopefully in the near future they will have an update with good news.

I contacted the wtok and received a reply advising I should contact LE about the status of Lashonda. :( The news department also said they checked this site and couldn't find this thread. I replied with a link to it.

I pray Lashonda has returned home and is safe.

A Lauderdale County teenager who was reported missing a few weeks ago is safe and back home. Authorities say 16-year-old Lashonda Bennomon ran away to Kemper County Nov. 28.

"We had a source that basically told us where she was," said Kemper County Sheriff James Moore.

And when she was found, Moore said she was with her 19-year old sister, Tawanna Bennomon, and the sister's 20-year-old boyfriend, Nathan Nix. The two are accused of helping the teenager hide out at a mobile home in Kemper County

"It does look like they were hiding; it was boarded up and an electric cord was running across," Moore said.

The two have been charged with the misdemeanor of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

"They are not the parents and apparently the minor was missing long enough for the parents," said Moore.

Moore said Nix's grandmother wasn't aware the three were staying next door. As for what the three were doing those weeks Bennomon was away from home, Moore says he's still looking into that.

"As a minor, you think it is cool to defy your parents but you never know what people have planned for you," said the sheriff.
