Ceiling Collapse Reported At Mall

No Injuries Reported In Incident

BOSTON -- A section of a suspended ceiling inside the parking garage at the Atrium Mall in Chestnut Hill has collapsed.

There were no reports of any injuries in the incident at 300 Boylston St. The section of ceiling that fell is located in the underground garage on the valet level.

Since the parking is beneath the mall, I'd be more than a little concerned if I was inside that mall. I hope they evacuated it.

That could have been tragic! Glad no injuries reported yet, and as you said, I hope they evacuated. Do they know what caused it?

BOSTON -- A section of a suspended ceiling inside the parking garage at the Atrium Mall in Chestnut Hill collapsed Wednesday.

There were no reports of any injuries in the incident at 300 Boylston St. The section of ceiling that fell is located in the underground garage on the valet level.

As many as 10 vehicles were damaged in the collapse, according to police. The mall remains open for business, according to a mall spokesperson. Mall visitors are being asked to use the Florence Street entrance and exit.

No word of what caused it, but apparently they still have mall open so they aren't real concerned. I wouldn't be in that mall with a collasped floor below me! LOL

Goodness, no! Well, hope the mall has good insurance for all those messed up cars.

So glad that no one was killed during this collapse. It could have been a tragic situation involving human life.
