"I think peace and closure is the most important thing to the family," Joe's Brother Lea Daggett, said.
It's a community wide endeavor - a search to find Joe Daggett, a Ft. Stockton man who went missing 20 years ago.
"I think we've all known what's happened for 20 years, we just need to have some closure," Joe's Father Merrell Daggett, said.
"I really feel like West Texas people all come together and help each other out," Lea Daggett said.
On Friday and Saturday, Texas Equuasearch is teaming up with the Pecos County Sheriff's Office, the Texas Rangers, and volunteers from New Mexico, Florida, and Ohio to search every water well in the Imperial and Ft. Stockton area.
"All the information today that's been brought together for the last 14 months leads to a very direct location and now we finally have information that Mr. Daggett is in the bottom of a well," Search Director Sean Henady, said.
The search this year is different from years past. They're using all types of new technology, but most importantly, a special camera that can fit all the way down inside the well searching for clues.
"They're pulling out all the stops on finding Mr. Daggett," Henady said. "The State police are allowing us to use their helicopter in the zones through the resources of Texas Equusearch and bringing aerial imagery equipment, ATV's, horses, anything we can get our hands on."
They're also using a GPS tracking system to pinpoint each well location.
"The 3 suspects worked together and disposed of Mr. Daggett, and put him in the bottom of a well," Henady said.
The search got underway after 2:00 on Friday and will continue through Saturday evening in the Ft. Stockton area.
"I think we're getting really close to closing this chapter and taking a lot of stress off the family," Lea Daggett said.
"I appreciate everyone coming out more than I can say," Merrell Daggett said. "I think it's great they're willing to come out and help. I just hope we can come up with an answer."

They should find him with all that equipment if the suspects have told the truth.
My condolences to Joe's family.

I cannot imagine not knowing where my child was for 20 years. I am sure this has not been easy at all for the family.

CARLSBAD -- State police officers have arrested a ranch hand in southeastern New Mexico in connection with the disappearance of a Texas man more than 20 years ago.
State police said Lightsey Saul, 57, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. Saul was being sought on a felony warrant charging him with conspiracy to commit capital murder. The warrant stems from the March 1988 disappearance of Joseph W. Daggett in Pecos County, Texas.
State police learned from Texas authorities that Saul had been hiding at a ranch near Carlsbad. Several searches for Daggett were conducted last year, but his body was never found. However, the Pecos County Sheriff's Department said Texas Rangers helped find enough evidence to charge Saul.

Two Arrested, Charged with Capital Murder Scheme

Two suspects have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder in connection with the mysterious disappearance of Fort Stockton rancher Joseph Wayne Daggett, who was last seen on the evening of March 1, 1988.
Lightsey Nathan "L.N." Saul, 57, of Loving, N.M., and George Bell McIntyre, 59, of the Fort Stockton area, were indicted by a Midland County grand jury, which charged them with conspiracy to commit capital murder. The first-degree felony charges carry a punishment of five to 99 years or life imprisonment and a fine of $10,000.
According to the indictments, in March 1988 Saul and McIntyre conspired to murder Daggett while attempting to commit robbery at the victim's residence. Daggett's truck was found several days later in the Midland International Airport's long-term parking lot. Investigators believe the suspects left Daggett's truck there after disposing of his body.
Saul, who was arrested Wednesday, is being held in the Carlsbad, N.M., jail without bond pending his extradition to Texas. McIntyre was arrested today and is being held on $500,000 bond in Pecos County
The Texas Attorney General's Criminal Prosecutions Division will prosecute the defendants with assistance from the Midland County District Attorney's Office. Today's arrests reflect a cooperative law enforcement effort that involved the Pecos County Sheriff's Department, Midland County Sheriff's Department, the Texas Rangers and the Texas Attorney General's Office.
