HAPPY NEW YEAR! :s1gyahoo:

Thank you Harlett for providing this board! Went to the Court TV board link this morning and found links to CNN/Crime site (no message board link that I could find) and TruTV site which had a "Discuss" tab, but it says the boards are not yet open and even though we were told our old nicknames and passwords would work, mine didn't. So thank you Harlett for hosting this lovely forum! :girl_haha:

Hope you all had a fun and safe New Year's Eve and are enjoying New Year's Day without a headache/hangover! :22wink:

I'll go see if we have any updates today and be right back!

Happy New Year everybody! :0012:

I haven't been back over there yet since I'm very happy here! I'm looking for some news on Stacy too but haven't seen anything but I don't have the tv on the "news" today either. Are all the searches over?

I just read a new story that Snicker posted on the links thread, where again DP is feeling sorry for himself and is now comparing Stacy's disappearance to that of another woman who ran off and was found alive.

"This is just another case of what happened to me happening to someone else," Peterson, the ex-cop whose wife Stacy vanished more than two months ago, said of the case of Anu Solanki. "This happens all the time. I'm just another victim of it."

He's a victim. What about the children? Aren't they? :puke:

I'm just another victim of it

Give me my stick...I think I can make him understand that this is NOT about him. :eyebrow1qb:

Peterson says Solanki's story is further evidence that such strange occurrences do happen. "People run away. People drown in the bathtub," he said. "And it happened to me."

Just noticed that the following caption:

"Illinois State Police are asking anyone who might have seen this car in Bolingbrook, Shorewood or Plainfield, Illinois on October 28 or 29, 2007 to come forward. "

is under the photos of SP's and DP's vehicles on the AMW website. :waitasec:

We could speculate that ISP has records of cell phone pings in the three areas listed. Obviously Bolingbrook was their residence. We've heard about the connection between Shorewood and Scott Rosetto and the possibility of DP trying to set Scott up for SP's disappearance. But does anyone remember any mention of Plainfield in connection to the investigation into SP's disappearance (other than the fact that Lisa Stebic is from Plainfield)? I did a couple searches of news reports and found no mention of searches or any other LE activitiy specifically in Plainfield, except I found this in reference to the canal search:
"Several agencies and private companies will be assisting with the recovery of debris in the canal, including the United States Coast Guard, FBI, Department of Defense, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, National Insurance Crime Bureau, Will County and Romeoville EMA, Tri-County and Northeast Metropolitan Auto Theft Taskforces, Mutual Aid Box Alarm System, Romeoville and Lockport Fire and Police Departments, Plainfield Fire Department , Naperville Police Underwater Recovery Team, and Dive Right in Scuba of Plainfield, IL. Towing companies from the area will also assist in the recovery efforts."

But nothing IN Plainfield -- anybody remember anything else connected to Plainfield in this case? TIA

Hey Newbiee! :happy0207: Everyone I know is having a problem staying logged in at CTV/InSession right now. I did find that if you log in at the front page of the forum (the page that lists all the threads) in the upper right corner and if you "subscribe" to the thread you want to post on, you stay logged in longer. But the connection still "times out" after a little while. I've written an email to Coldwater explaining the issue and asking if she can help in any way. I'll post any solutions she might give me. :0009:

"I'm not touching this money. I have nothing to do with it," said the sister, Anna Doman.

Doman said her brother, Henry M. Savio, also was unaware of any plans to raise money through kathleenkittysavio.com. Doman believes her sister, Susie Doman, and her father's son from his third marriage, Nicholas Savio, are behind the Web site.

"I wish Nick would stop walking around saying he's my brother," Doman said. "He's my half-brother."

Isn't Nick the guy that said he'd seen the video of DP out in front of KS's house? I'm probably wrong on that. Been out of touch too long....

Also, I hadn't heard that the new list of "Dead associates of DP" had added yet another woman, Melissa Mitchell. Absolutely amazing.......

By DON BABWIN – 2 hours ago

CHICAGO (AP) — A former police officer suspected in the disappearance of his wife will be defended in a police brutality lawsuit by an attorney hired by the town that employed him, his personal attorney said Friday.

Former Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, who is a suspect in the disappearance of his wife, Stacy Peterson, and two other Bolingbrook officers are accused in a federal lawsuit by a man who claims they broke his thumb while he was in police custody.

In his lawsuit filed last month, Timothy Brownlee accused police of having used excessive force, committed assault and battery and conspiracy, and falsely arrested and imprisoned him on May 28, 2007.

He claims Peterson and two other officers dragged him from the booking area and threw him to the ground. He said after he was handcuffed Peterson "grabbed his right thumb and twisted it, breaking it."

Police say Brownlee was arrested after a neighbor complained he was using vulgar language and was uncooperative, and that Brownlee's actions in the booking room required officers to restrain him. Brownlee was initially charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice, but the charges were later dismissed, according to his lawsuit.

Brownlee referred questions to his attorney, Jon Loevy. Loevy did not immediately return calls for comment Friday.

Village attorney James Boan declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Peterson's attorney, Joel Brodsky, provided The Associated Press a copy of a letter in which Boan said the village would provide Peterson an attorney.

Brodsky said Brownlee included Peterson in the lawsuit in an "attempt to make money off the fact that Drew Peterson is being investigated and Stacy Peterson is missing and (Peterson's former wife) Kathy Savio died tragically in her bathtub."

Peterson has been named a suspect in his wife's disappearance, which authorities have called a possible homicide, but he has not been charged. Stacy Peterson was last seen Oct. 28 and was reported missing by her family the next day.

Peterson has denied any involvement in her disappearance. He has said he believes she left him for another man and is alive.

The investigation prompted the exhumation of the Peterson's third wife, Savio. Prosecutors have said evidence indicates her 2004 death may have been a homicide staged to look like an accident. Results of a new autopsy have not been released. Peterson has not been named a suspect in her death.

He also said the incident in the booking room was videotaped and Peterson was not on duty.

I don't understand. I thought this case was proved false a few weeks ago.:waitasec:Hey KittyMom! :happy0207: There are a few possibilities: perhaps DP was at the PD when he was off-duty, saw that his fellow officers were having a problem with this guy and the incident happened in an area that does not have a camera in it. The statement that DP was off duty the day this incident occurred does not preclude the fact that he could have been present and been off duty. There are a lot of possibilities. Or, the plaintiff could simply be wrong and mis-identified DP. The lawsuit's moving forward either way because apparently "somebody" broke his thumb at some point. :z0tdntknw:

Report: Anonymous Letter Claims Missing Stacy Peterson Spotted in Kentucky

CHICAGO — A former police officer received an anonymous letter claiming a sighting of his missing wife Stacy Peterson in a mall parking lot in Kentucky, according to a report.

Drew Peterson received a letter Sunday saying Stacy — missing since Oct. 28 — was seen with another man in Florence, Ky., on Nov. 18, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Click here to read the report.

The writer of the letter claims to have spoken to Stacy. The letter says Stacy told the writer to "just mind your own business" and "please don't ruin my life."

The writer also claims to have photographed Stacy before she got away.

Drew Peterson, a suspect in his wife's disappearance, denies any involvement and claims she left him for another man. Peterson has not been charged.

The anonymous writer who claimed to have spotted Stacy Peterson in a Kentucky mall parking lot also claimed to have reported the incident to local authorities.

In a release, Boone County Sheriff’s Office (Ky.) spokesman Tom Scheben said the department had no record of any report regarding the Peterson case.

He said the department does not usually patrol the mall area but one deputy was in the mall that day to open a locked car. The deputy said he had not been approached by anybody about the Peterson case.

The problem with DP is he is a smart cop and knows HOW to get rid of a body I don't think they will ever find Stacy unless the blue container surfaces I hope they check the Dresden locks I think they are doing alot behind the scenes and getting all their ducks in a row before they arrest DP.

Sending a letter to the husband avoids the crime of submitting a false report to law LE.

If it was valid, the info & pictures would be sent to LE with full disclosure of identity to assist in the case.

FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Although the case isn't getting as much attention as in past weeks, officials of the Illinois State Police say a team of agents continues to investigate the disappearance of Stacy Peterson.

Trooper Mark Dorencz said Wednesday that at any given time, between 70 and 80 agents are assigned to the investigation. He says nearly 1,300 tips have been received, from which about 500 leads have been generated.

Peterson has been missing since October 28. In November, police labeled her disappearance a possible homicide and named her husband, former Bolingbrook police Sergeant Drew Peterson a suspect. He has not been charged and has denied any involvement in her disappearance.

Dorencz says police also continue their investigation into the 2004 death of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, who was found dead in her bathtub.

Former police sergeant Drew Peterson claims his missing wife received a racy text message from another man a month before she disappeared.

The message could clear Peterson, who is a suspect in his wife's disappearance, his attorney told the Chicago Sun-Times on Thursday.

"Basically, what this shows is that Stacy had a secret lover," Joel Brodsky, Peterson's attorney, told the Sun-Times. "Who is this guy? Is he missing? If this person is missing, then the mystery is solved."

:duh: We knew about this.

"You my love are the hottest bitch in the world. Thanks for ridding (sic) me like a bucking bronco last night," the message reads, according to Brodsky.

Isn't it interesting that this is just now coming to light? I think DP is the letter writer from KY and I believe that he sent the text message. He is jerking everyone around with these things - a letter sent to him and not LE, a text message that all of a sudden appears out of nowhere and DP and his attorney announce this to the media. While reading thru the forums I have found about Stacy Peterson being missing. I am reminded of the Duke-LaCrosse case, which never made it to trial (thank god), yet, the lives of these innocent young men as well as the lives of their family members will forever be damaged because of the guilty until proven innocent attitude that seems to exists through out the country today. Of course I am sure that kind of opinion does not exist here about anyone.

BOLINGBROOK (AP) - A judge will review evidence in the case of a missing suburban Chicago woman before deciding whether to return cars, guns and other items seized by investigators from her husband, former police officer Drew Peterson.

Will County Judge Richard Schoenstedt said at a Friday hearing that he expected to make a decision on the matter on Feb. 1, but he said he first would speak with investigators behind closed doors and ask them to explain why they want to keep the items.
