Morganton - Detectives are looking for a teenage girl they say went missing before Thanksgiving.
Burke County Sheriff's Detective Austin Hensley said Tiffany Marie Pickard, 16, has been missing since Nov. 22. He said it is believed that she ran away from her Homestead Drive home in Morganton with a friend, David Wayne Gabbard, 20. Hensley said Gabbard has no solid address.
Hensley said there are active warrants out for Gabbard.
It's not the first time Tiffany has run away from home. The girl and Gabbard have left together before, he said. It is, though, the longest she's been missing, Hensley said.
The teen's father and step-mother filed a missing person's report with the Sheriff's Office the day she went missing.
Hensley said the Sheriff's Office has followed up on any leads it has received on the case but nothing has panned out.
Hensley decided to ask the media and community for help in finding the girl.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 438-5500.
