State police are searching for an Afton woman after she failed to show up for work Saturday.
Yvonne Koepke, 23, is missing along with her 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, Sidney state police said Monday.
She has not been seen or heard from since Saturday morning, troopers said. An employer and the woman's father said it was out of character for Koepke.
Russel Alvarez, executive director of The Joshua House in Sidney, said Koepke did not show up Saturday. The Joshua House serves the developmentally disabled, and Koepke worked there part time, Alvarez said.
"She was a real go-getter," he added. "She looked like a responsible person."
Koepke worked several jobs, said her father, Albert Koepke, on Monday.
One of these was Joe's & Vinny's Pizzeria in Sidney.
Paulette Patrick, 58, a co-worker at the pizzeria and a friend of Koepke, said she has known her for several years. Patrick also said Koepke would not show up to work without calling, and she never went anywhere without her cell phone, which was found at her home.
Patrick said she last talked to her by phone at around 8 a.m. Saturday. Koepke's father said she was last seen Saturday morning at the home she shares with her boyfriend on state Route 7.
Koepke and Patrick said the woman was devoted to her two horses and wouldn't leave them.
