Why was the media just alerted within the last couple days, she's been missing for over a month!?

This quote is worrisome Grande. A month is a long time to be missing for a 13 year old and obviously from the quote she has had no contact with friends or family.

It certainly is especially when you factor in the online dialogue with the 'unknown male' she had prior to her disapperance.

Oh my goodness yes. I hope they have her computer and can identify him. I wonder how long it would take to search a computer?

This girl is an absolute doll. I don't understand these cases. Even if the child is a suspected runaway, there is still that chance that they've been taken against their will. LE shouldn't wait.

Officers have reached out to family???? Isn't that something her parents should've done ASAP?

Depends on the nature of the analysis. In this case, I suspect they initially retrieved the IP address and then went to the Service Provider for information regarding the user. Based on the media reports it doesn't sound like that tactic provided any leads. I imagine they have done a full analysis on the computer by now and reviewed the chat logs to see if there were any details that would lead to identifying the 'unknown male'. I know the FCC's E911 initiative requires cell phone providers to be able to track coordinates within 100 meters. In fact, cell phone providers can pinpoint the user within feet of their location. If I'm not mistaken their is similar regulations that apply to ISP's. The issue in this case could be that the IP trace leads to a publicly accessed terminal. I hope that's not the case.

I pray this little girl is safe.

Thanks for the info Grande.

I pray she is safe too, but I am very worried that she is in the hands of a pedophile or a sexual predator and he has covered his tracks on the internet so well so that LE cannot get his name.

This child is very beautiful and a magnet for those types of men.

ATLANTA (MyFOX ATLANTA) – There was new information Wednesday in the search for a DeKalb County teen. Thirteen-year-old Andrea Lois Key disappeared more than a month ago.

DeKalb police said there is an indication Key may not be in any danger.

Parents at Shamrock Middle School are reacting to the disappearance of Key.

The 13-year-old Shamrock Middle School 7th grader was last seen chatting online at home with what a private investigator said were two men on December 10.

DeKalb police said it appeared that Key has been in touch with someone by both email and cell phone to say that she is OK. Investigators said all along they did not suspect foul play and the latest development only reiterated they didn't believe Key was in any danger.

DeKalb police said they were still following up on several leads in the case.

The only problem is wsb is the ONLY outlet sticking with the story that she was EVER in danger, she was NOT with a MAN she is half latino and she is also bilingual ,she has been staying with a LATINO FAMILY not a man,the police said back when she was orininally reported that their preliminary investigation showed she was NOT in danger and was in constant contact with her family telling them she was ok,after further investigation the police concluded again just days before locating her she was NOT in ANY danger. They pinpointed the general location from her computer contact and did a house to house until they found her,SHE PREFERS her LATINO heritage.
