I just noticed this morning that our fellow poster, Audie, has put Audie Murphy's picture back as his avatar. Audie Murphy was always a 'hero' of mine so I decided to refresh my memory of him ... beyond his being the most decorated soldier of WWII.... I don't know if anybody has equaled his record yet.

What I did NOT know was that he earned that status during a three year period... between the time he enlisted in the Army (10 days after his 18th birthday) and when he was released from active duty shortly after his 21st birthday! Nor did I realize that he went from Army Private to First Lieutenant in that same time.

And he was a cutie patootie too!!!

CLEANING FOR A REASON:

If you know any woman currently undergoing Chemo, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - 1 time per month for 4 months while she is in treatment.

All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. http://www.cleaningforareason.org

Please pass this information on to bless a woman going through Breast Cancer treatment. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It’s our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.

Hello everyone, since I forgot my manners and didn't speak when I entered the room.
The trees aren't the only thing that sheds in Mississippi looks like. He's a little cutie, too.
I enjoyed the short update on Audie Murphy.

Sorry Grins, I've been down this week after hearing about Shaniya from NC. I may not have even spelled that baby's name right. It hurt so much to hear that monster had killed her, but even more that her Mother gave her away for prostitution.
I'm glad she is not among so many in the slave trade. I'd much rather know she is with Jesus.

That was awesome. Who are those girls? I see it was a gymnasium full of Army/Navy cadets. Brings back memories.

yes Ms Pat finally, that is the smell of pumpkin bread, y'all have a choice of w/raisin or w/walnut, they be a bit proud of pecans up here, but I've got walnuts all around me, Pat please forgive, though, I did call and turned you in to the FDA, you have NO RIGHT giving out such recipes without the warning that outcome may be addictive and habit forming, so if you see some big black cars, they're coming to make sure you include a warning with your recipes...

Steve, that is breath-takingly beautiful!

My husband is half Cherokee, and he came in here to see where the singing was coming from, so I replayed it for him.

It nearly brought him to tears, and he said those are the most beautiful voices he's ever heard.

Off to see if I can buy him the tape.

I'm so unfamiliar with you tube.

Please, if someone can tell me how to buy that tape, please do so!

I think it was called Wahlelah.

Wow, it is beautiful, Steve. Never heard Amazing Grace like that.

Hope Al does get checked with that persistent fever. Might be more than one thing affecting him.

Love those pictures of kids playing in the leaves. So much fun. LOL Always so many beautiful pictures in the Klatch.
