Aurora police seek missing boy, 11
Tribune staff report 9:38 AM CST, January 4, 2008 Aurora police today were searching for an 11-year-old boy who has been missing from his home since about 4 p.m. Sunday. Marcus Antonio Gomez, of the 300 block of Forest Avenue in the western suburb, left home after telling his brother he would be spending the night with an unidentified friend, Aurora police said in a news release. His parents and family members have been looking for him ever since. He was reported missing Wednesday, police said. Marcus, who has run away in the past, is described as 4 feet 10 inches tall, 80 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Aurora police at 630-859-1700. |

"We haven't ruled out that he may be at a friend's house, but we still haven't located him," police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said. "We believe that he is probably in the immediate area." Marcus, who police said has not run away in the past, was last seen wearing a blue jacket. He is 4-foot-10 and 80 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Grande, I live in Springfield, Ill. I never see Amber alerts for children missing from Northern Illinois. Is there someone you think we could contact about them being shown here?

New: Missing Aurora boy found safe
January 4, 2008 FROM STAFF REPORTS AURORA -- The 11-year-old Aurora boy reported missing earlier this week has been found. Aurora police said Marcus Antonio Gomez was found safe at about 5:30 p.m. today at a home in the 1100 Block of Assell Avenue. Gomez had been missing since Sunday, when he told his brother he planned to spend the night at a friend's house. He was reported missing Wednesday.
