Thumbs up Dakota Marie Beckmann [FOUND SAFE!] MSG from Iowa City, IA since Dec 9, 2007

NCMC1085443
Endangered Runaway
DOB: Dec 8, 1992 Age: 15
Missing: Dec 9, 2007 Race: White
Location: IOWA CITY, IA, US
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

She is about 5' 1" tall and approximately 105 lbs with short dark hair. She has braces and is slender in form with pierced ears.

Dakota is bound and determined NOT to be taken home so she will most likely run if confronted. So please call local law enforcement if you see this young woman.

The last reported sighting of Dakota was at 8:15 Sunday evening in North Liberty, Iowa. She has however been in contact with a "friend" who reported her to be in Davenport, Iowa.

Please spread this information to ANYONE you know in Iowa. Dakota has 2 loving parents and 2 younger brothers as well as numerous friends who want her home.

Dakota, if you read this. All is forgiven. Please contact your parents or myself and we will come get you. You have my sons home phone number and my cell phone. Please call one of us and let us know you are OK.

Let me just add...

The text was taken from another website, and it never occurred to me that the last paragraph makes it sound like Dakota is someone I know.

I do not know Dakota. Hopefully, she will know who that person is and call them.

However, if she DID call me, you can bet that I'd be on my way to Iowa to find her.

And I would be right behind you, Kitchen. I sure hope common sense returns. At that age they think nothing can happen and everything is an adventure. Please keep us updated.

Just call me KG, thanks. I don't like typing out "Kitchen Guy" all the time, either.

Stories like this break my heart, since 15 year olds know everything there is to know about everything - just ask one. We can only hope this has a good outcome.

I'd be honored to have you along but you're going to have to leave the parakeet at home.

It concerns me that methamphetamine is so prevalent in that area and prostitution for young unemployed addicts is not uncommon. I hope she gets back home safely before getting involved in too much of that scary stuff.

The only plus is that at least Iowa is 'safer' than other places to run off to... granted with a bunch of tweekers and aliens, drunks and hill billies, etc she's not really all that *safe* anyway. I hope she gets home safe and sound... and learns from her experience.

ETA: she ran off the day after her birthday... and with all the crazies out shooting people lately I really feel for her family. :(
