Police looking for missing man

Eden police are searching for a man missing since Sunday. Joel Hale, 29, was reported missing from his Chadwick Apartment home about 5 p.m. Hale is black, 6 feet, 3 inches, 220 pounds. He has short hair and some facial hair.

He was last seen at the Chadwick Apartments wearing blue jeans and a black jacket with a design on the black and gold lettering. His parents told police Hale was at the apartment when they left for church Sunday but was missing when they came home.

Police said Hale has a history of medical problems and may be disoriented.

Police are using several dogs to search for Hale as well as additional officers. A helicopter search of the area earlier today was unsuccessful.

Lt. Greg Light said police do not suspect foul play but fear Hale is being exposed to below-freezing temperatures.

“Our biggest concern is the temperature last night and the temperature tonight,” Light said.

Anyone with information about Hale is asked to call Eden police at 623-9755.

A man reported missing Sunday was found about 3:15 Monday outside Stoneybrook Apartments in Eden. The man, Joel Hale, 29, was reported missing from his Chadwick Apartments home about 5 p.m. He apparently had been outside all night, authorities say, and his condition was not immediately available.
