A lot have PMd and asked if we know what is going on over there... I don't know for sure, but after reading about the emails that many received I would say they had been hacked. That is only my opinion and not a fact yet....

I don't mind if you want to discuss it, all I ask is that you do not bash the board or it's Admin over there.

Wow - I didn't know anyone would even want to bash the boards or CW, just maybe complain about the boards being shut down. It leaves most of us not knowing what is going on so thank you for starting a thread, and asking everyone to be good.

I received an email from Tru Tv, telling me that *I* had tried to log in and exceeded my limit. I never tried to log in.

I think many of you have received emails from the board. i have no clue what is going on, but I did receive a PM from a regular who told me they thought the board was hacked.

Apparently, Coldwater tried to let everyone know about this, early this A.M. and I had not logged on, so I never saw the message.

This is all I know. I hope CW and the tech people can fix the problem. And then CW will address what happened as she always keeps us informed.

We usually don't like or allow posts about other boards, and closed one this morning for that reason, but so many people have asked that Pauli thought we should have a thead about this one.

I think they've been hacked, too, because there seems to have been a mass email sent out. I got one but didn't open it.

I checked my emails and said that someone had tried to log in over 5 times and even gave me the IP adress, I don't know what I should do with that info. Keep it, delete it, or google it. I am not up on this stuff with hacking.

Mass emails often go out when a board has been hacked. We had it happen here.

My advice is to delete it.

When we were hacked it would not let me log in here.. I would get the message that I exceeded the limit of trys... that's what leads me to believe they were hacked... TruTv is running a newer version of vBulletin, but they are not running the latest. The version they have is the one that has a loophole in it making it easier to be hacked.. it's the same version we had when we got hit hard the last time.

InSessions is using a very old version of vBulletin and they may have taken it off line just to be safe until they could get TruTv back and upgrade IS... just a guess on my part though..

As long as you don't open any links in the emails you will be fine and shouldn't have any problems at all..
