"We're very concerned about Kathy and her family, especially at this time of the year," Frame said. "We're hopeful she will be returned safely. Missing Macomb woman, family reunite Santiago Esparza / The Detroit News Relatives of Kathy Lynn Hardrick, the missing Macomb Head Start employee who was reunited with her family this morning, are now working to help her and are thankful that she's now back home. "As you know, Kathy has been found and is home safe," Hardrick's uncle, Mike Hennessey, said in a written statement today. "We wish to thank (Macomb) Sheriff (Mark) Hackel and his detectives who did such a wonderful job. And thanks to all who searched and prayed. What we seem to have here is our own 'It's A Wonderful Life' moment! "Due to depression brought on by stress she became convinced we would be better off without her until she saw how hard we were searching and wanted her back. She wishes to apologize to everyone and is praying for all those who are missing loved ones today, that their outcome will be a happy one. Thank you all." Hardrick, who had been missing since Tuesday, was reported back at home with her family this morning by Macomb County Sheriff Mark Hackel. Hardrick, a 38-year-old Lenox Township resident, was seen about 10 a.m. Tuesday before contacting sheriff's officials overnight. Hardrick, a part-time driver for the Head Start office, was on her way from Clinton Township to The Detroit Free Press to pick up books before she went missing. Hardrick was with acquaintances in Detroit and not in contact with her family, including two children. Media attention about her absence led her to contact the authorities, Hackel said. "She left on her own and did not realize there was a missing person report," Hackel said. "We convinced her to reunite with her family." He said the case now is closed. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...DATE/712210433 |
