Surprise man with Alzheimer's missing

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - Police are looking for a 78-year-old Surprise man who is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's.

Surprise police Lt. Craig Scartozzi says Harold Lohrberg has been missing since about 5 p.m. Sunday.[sic] His wife reported him missing after he didn't come home from a trip to a local grocery store.

She also reported that Lohrberg hadn't taken his prescribed medications.

Lohrberg is described as white, 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has grey hair, wears glasses and was last seen wearing a white hat, tan jacket and blue jeans.

He is driving a 2001 cream-colored Lexus sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call Surprise police at 623-222-4000.

Surprise man with Alzheimer's is found

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - A missing 78-year-old Surprise Alzheimer's patient has been found safe.

Surprise police say Harold Lohrberg was found at 2 a.m. Sunday in Buckeye.

His wife reported him missing Saturday after he didn't come home from a trip to a local grocery store.

She also reported that Lohrberg hadn't taken his prescribed medications.

Police say Lohrberg was disoriented and confused but in overall good health. He was safely returned to his family by the Surprise Police Department.

Yep, I'm not going to be the one to tell my 81 YO FIL who has macular degeneration that he has to quit driving. I'm leaving that to my BIL.

Wonderful news about this gentleman though.

I just loved the headline - it looked more like "SURPRISE! Man Missing" to me when I first saw it.
